Did snoring go away or improve?

I have been told I snore. I''m about 50 lbs overweight. Did your snoring improve when you lost weight?

When I was 297 I snored a lot. Now, at 230 I only snore when my allergies are acting up. Hope that helps!

I never snored, but I did "breath very heavy" when I was 55 Lbs heavier than I am now. My husband noted that it has been a huge change in that time. probably depends on why you were snoring in the first place...

My husband says my snoring has almost gone away completely. I'm down from 320 lbs to 252 lbs at 5'9. Losing weight always helps to improve breathing.

Oh hell yeah. When I'm over 200 lbs. I snore. The more I weigh, the more I snore. Sometimes I wake myself up. But even if I don't wake up, I can feel my throat is kinda really dry and almost sore the next morning. When I'm under 200 it get's a lot better. Now that I'm down to 190, I still snore a little, but it's way, way better. Once I'm in the 180 zone, it pretty much goes away all together.

Other things affect snoring too. If you drink alcohol at nigh, it makes snoring worse. Smoking can make it worse, and some prescription drugs from what I understand. Also, if you sleep on your back, might try a different position.

Good luck with it. Snoring is a pain. I never feel as rested when I'm snoring and it's a bother for everyone else.

I have been in maintenance for about the last year + and I thought I had stopped snoring completely. However, my DH informed me that I was snoring night before last! LOL My allergies have been bad so thinking this must be the culprit! So, maybe not completely but a darn sight better than before.

I snore all the time and I snored when I weighed 110 and when I weighed 191. My granddaughter weighs 60 lbs and she snores and complains that her brother who weigh 33 lbs keeps her up with his snoring. My husband snores and my sons snore, maybe its a family thing. lol Good luck to ya! :flowerforyou:

My husband used to snore a lot, especially when he had a few drinks. He lost about 15 lbs last year and now he only snores every so often, and it is a lot lighter than it was before.

My hubby went from keeping me awake every night and me having to wear ear plugs, to only snoring if he has a cold or had a few drinks by losing 120lbs.
