ok so the topic might seem a lil bit stupid, but i saw an icecream topic and mine was somewhat close to it so i thought i should post mine too.. okay so at school i cannot take food(whatever is the reason) and at school i dont have much of healthy choices for lunch.. all i can select from are: biscuits, chips, pizza sandwich, chicken stick, cheese roll, deep fried chicken spring roll, samosa(potato filled) , patees.. soo i was wondering if i eat any of these items daily and just fit it in to my daily calorie goal would it make me gain weight? there were some stupid girls today who told me if i eat biscuit (they were only 3) every single day i will gain weight -_- and i dont believe that **** as long as i am working out.. but a word of advise from you great people would be great

No. Eating too many calories make you gain weight, independent of what those calories consist of.0

bump for further opinions:)0 -
As long as you log those items and fit it into your calorie goal, they aren't going to make you gain. Many of the options sound higher in salt though, which could cause you to hold on to a little extra water, so just keep that in mind.0

I lost all my weight, plus maintained it for over two years, while eating chocolate or ice cream and fast food daily So yes, yes you can.0

There is no other opinions. That is the fact so far. Junk food may make you look 'bigger' due to high salt content which causes water retention. I can get away eating out for a few days as long as it's in my calorie deficit and I drink plenty of water to reduce water retention.0

You can't gain weight/fat if you do not exceed your maintenance level of calories. Weight control is about energy consumption and expenditure...it has little to do with actual nutrition.
More junk food will tend to make you retain more water though. Also, why is a sandwich junk food? I eat sandwiches all of the time and do not consider them to be "junk".0 -
Those food are generally considered "junk" because they tend to be high in calories and low in nutrition. When I was in a similar situation, I chose to eat a larger breakfast (high in nutrition and fiber), then a small lunch, a low cal & high nutrition snack when I got home and then dinner. It is a shame there is no vegetable option.
Good luck, I am sure with a little adjustment you can find the right balance in order to feel full and meet your goals.0 -
