in 2 weeks? I know it's unlikely and would be hard but my question is just is it possible?
And if so, can anyone give me some tips and advice on what I need to do?
It's nothing major like a must do but something I would like to do and I know if I can get a good head start I will do much better going forward.
So it doesn't matter what the weight is, nor where it's at?
20 lbs, lets say half fat, half muscle mass, because at that goal, you'll be lucky if that good of a ratio.
10 lbs x 3500 calories fat = 35000 deficit over 2 weeks = 2500 daily deficit.
10 lbs x 600 calories muscle mass = 6000 / 14 days = 430 daily deficit.
So need a total daily deficit for 2 weeks of almost 3000 calories.
Which means to have that much deficit, you have to be burning from all your daily activities probably a good 4500-5000 calories.
Now, if your normal daily burn with no exercise is up around 2000 calories, that would mean if you weighed 180 lbs, and walked 3.5 mph with avg 2% grade, for 8 hrs EVERY SINGLE DAY, you could burn NET an additional 2500 calories - so 4500 total calories.

Then just eat 1500 calories. There is your 3000 calorie daily deficit, with probably half fat and half muscle being burned off.
Oh yeah, by the end with 20 lbs less carried around, you'll need to walk 9 hrs. So keep increasing through the 2 weeks from 8 to 9 hrs daily walking.
Love to see the compliance on that being accomplished. Better not walk by anyplace that carries food.0 -
I lost 14lbs in two weeks. My secret? I had food poisoning and was only able to eat a banana and a few ensure over the course of the 2 weeks (a few being like 6).
I do not recommend it I felt like I was dying.0 -

Beat me to it heybales, I was going to write much the same thing, only far less eloquent.0 -
Cut off a limb.
^^ Completely and totally useless reply that appears each time a thread of this sort crops up.
OP, putting insanity aside (!), to answer your question, I don't believe it is possible to lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks even if you stopped eating altogether for that 2 weeks (assuming that your ticker is correct). You're already well into the weight loss journey so even a loss of water weight would not be much and you simply can't burn that much energy to lose that much in that timeframe.
Bite me.
Ask a stupid question, you get a smartas$ response.0 -

Uh oh - there's a term for someone who calls talking about a bunch of numbers "eloquent".

No honey, it isn't. And if you did somehow manage to lose that amount, it wouldn't be weight loss of fat. And that would inevitably mean that it would all come back. A kickstart week looks to lose 4-5lb a week in the first couple of weeks, but even that is mainly water, it's simply designed to inspire you to keep going as after that it's slow, but the real transformation begins I hope this helps. I know that your post will get everyone's back up and some people can't help but react in a negative way to you, I get that and I'm sure you do too, but it isn't helpful is it?0

I lost 10lb in 2 weeks through strict diet and some pretty intense resistance training, but I think that's the best you can hope for, I know I certainly couldn't have survived on less or worked harder...0

I plan on losing around 8lbs in a few hours in April.....but I'm pregnant
I think unless you're massively overweight, or very ill, it's unlikely you'd lose that amount in 2 weeks.0 -
If others can achieve such amazing results in just 5 minutes, image what you can do in 2 weeks

ok, all kidding aside, here's some excellent suggestions from other MFP members if you want to go a more healthier route;

Uhhhhhh no.
Maybe 8lb in 2 weeks? If you worked really hard (and depending what weight you are)!!!
But more realistically, about 2lb-6lb in 2 weeks with good amount of exercise and healthy diet.
I used to ask silly questions like this hoping there was a possible answer! I tried all the fad diets etc, nothing worked!! Even a soup diet I went on for 2 weeks, I only lost 8lb over that period of time. Then put it on.
Really not worth losing weight as quick as you can.0 -
Let's do the math (sort of )
Lose 15 pounds in 14 days, means lose ONE pound EVERY SINGLE day.
To lose one pound, you need a deficiet of 3,500 calories EVERY SINGLE day.
Let's say you eat 1,400 calories a day.to maintain your current weight (some say that's reasonable)
Roughly, how many exercise calories do you then need to burn ?
1,400 - 3,500 = exercise calorires need to burn, ie 2,100 exercerise.
How the heck are you going to burn an EXTRA 2,300 EXERCISE calories EVERY SINGLE day ?????
or, you can STARVE yourself and consume even less, let's say.... consume 600 calories a day.
at that rate, you need to burn an extra 2,900 EXERCISE calories EVERY SINGLE day.
do you truly believe you have the energy to do that? that's it's even possible? and most important that it is healthy for your body and your soul ?
You didn't get to your CW of 190 pounds in 2 weeks. Don't expect to lose it in 2 weeks. Come on girl, you know better than that. There is no magic bullet.0 -
If you want to lose that much in only two weeks, better have a limb amputated, that's the only way.0

Most I have ever lost is 10lbs in two weeks...
only because first week had my TOM so there was 5 extra pounds of bloat and then the next week I was really puke sick.
So sure but it ain't fun.0 -
I lost about 20 lbs in a couple weeks when I had Mono. My throat hurt so bad I couldn't even swallow water. I didn't eat anything and was eventually rushed to the hospital for severe dehydration and had to get two IVs.
Once the pain subsided I was able to drink water and eat soup again and all 20 lbs came back in a few days.0 -
i did 12lbs in 10 days, i don't know if any of you have heard of the terryann 123 diet plan that is all over facebook, basically 3 meals plus 3 snacks per day, no carbs, just meat of various sorts, your supposed to never be hungry as you can eat as much as you want of the allowed foods, plus you had to drink 1.5 liters of water, i felt ill, i had blinding headaches, ended up taking laxatives because i was bunged up, and on the last day that i did this (i was literally sat on my settee crying because it had made me that miserable lol) i decided to enter everything i had eaten over the day into mfp and it didn't even amount to 900 cals
i immediately stopped the diet, and promptly gained the weight back, so do-able yes, recommended hell no0 -
I lost 15-20 pounds in an exceedingly short amount of time when I was 14 or 15 and almost died of pneumonia and one time I lost about 13 pounds (including water weight, though) in ~14 days while struggling with eating disorder stuff (I was eating like 200-500 calories per day; gained a lot of the weight back when I finally started eating more again), otherwise I don't think I've ever been heavy enough to healthily lose 15-20 pounds in two weeks.
This sounds like all sorts of trouble. Don't.0
