As far as I know Insanity is more cardio based and P90X is more strength training based. I'm looking to do it when I get a little closer to my goal weight and after running training so it would probably be more for toning the last bit and losing a little extra weight. What would you guys suggest?

I chose Insanity because the workouts looked like something I would stick with. P90X had yoga workouts and pull-ups and it just didn't sound fun to me. Choose the workouts (and instructor) that you know you will stick with for the long-run. Insanity is the only video program that I don't find painfully boring. It's actually sort of fun. The segments are short so I never got bored on one move so the workouts go faster.0
