My name is Kevin, my friends call me Kev, I have now been working out consistently for the past month. I have seen some gains and would love to get to know all or atleast some of you. My ideal goal is to get ripped but im putting on weight right now with myfitnesspal as a helper to calculate all my meals and snacks.

First question to those bodybuilders in here have any of you been successful using this app on your phone or online?
Second, is there anyway of this app or website to help calculate the amount opf calories burned while doing resistance training?
Third, Any pointers, motivation, or success stories?

Thanks in advance for your help and motivation and look forward to getting to know all or some of you.

Deuces!

Starting a weight gaining group if you're interested. Welcome to mfp.

Personally I'm not a fan of worrying about how many calories are expended during my (or my clients) exercise sessions. It's too tedious and inaccurate. And strength training can vary a whole heck of a lot depending on how you're actually lifting. I mean lifting weights can be a form of cardio or it can be, on the opposite end of the spectrum, a pure power or strength event such as that of powerlifting or olympic lifting.

MyFitnessPal is the favorite resource for tracking calories and cardio, but for strength training it only offers the basics. I used the Android app to track my calories when I'm not at a PC.

For strength training I have found other Android apps that are close to the mark. There is Jefit and Men's Health workout but neither seem to hit it just right. Still looking for the best portable app for strength training but for now Jefit looks like the best there is.
