someone explain to me what sodium is... isn't large amounts bad for you? doesn't it make you bloat? I'm really not sure but MFP has my goal at 2300...and I have no idea what it does

Sodium is a chemical element that makes your heart and other muscles function (among other things). I would definitely continue to eat at least 1500 mg/day of it.0

That is just because you don't have a comparison. 2300mg is a restricted diet and 1500mg is a very low sodium diet.0
