Im not New But..

Hi everyone..

My name is Karina. I am 21 years old and I am a mom & wife. I am not a stay at home mom, I work more than part-time but less than Full-time. I am a full-time student as well. Oh and I just moved into a new home.

A little about myself:

I am obese because I eat fatty foods and because for the majority of my life I have not taken care of my hypothyroid. I was diagnosed with this when I was 8. I was angry that I had a 'disease', and angrier that I had to take the medication for the rest of my life.

When I was a little kid I was really petite. But once I hit 12, I started gaining weight. By the time I was 15 & 16 I was at 195 pounds on my 5'4 frame.

I was disgusted with myself and I started dropping weight, by the time I was a senior in high school I weighed between 165 & 173 pounds. I still had some insecurities, but I was a lot happier.

I became pregnant, had my one and only child in 2010. I was happy that I had him but I became so insecure with my body.

In 2012 I went from 220 pounds to 193 pounds using MFP. I went from being a stay at home mom to a working parent and it 'became" difficult.

And here I am in 2014, at a good 215 pounds.

I am tired of making excuses! There is no good excuse for not taking care of myself. I'd like to meet some VERY supportive people that I can help along their journey as well as having them there to help push me through my tough times.

I would like to reach 140 pounds by this time next year. But that is not just my goal. I'd like to get healthier and work on my self esteem as well as my self control.

So please friend me! I'd like to have a really great supportive FL.

  • nice to meet you .....ya we as moms tend to forget that we need to take care of ourselves just as much as we do our families.Thats been the biggest adjustment for me learning that i am important too.i hope your journey goes great..and you reach your goal...need encouragement i'm only a click away...
  • You have to make time for you even if it is only a few minutes a day. I am 45 and after 3 kids and 4 grandkids I finally figured that out. We all struggle and have our moments just remember you are human...send a friend request will be more than happy to help..plus we are all on the same goal to get healthy and loose weight
