Lower Back Spasms

Hi all! I am recovering from severe lower back spasms that occurred about fourteen days ago. I am very surprised how painfully crippling the spasms impacted my life. I have never experienced muscle spasms like this before. I was on crutches days afterward and am just now getting around with less fear of another episode. I had a MRI completed and there are no real indications of issues within my spine. Has anyone had similar experiences?

No, in terms of the diagnosis - it is clear in Xrays even what my issue is.

If you have difficulty standing up, consider using the toilet backwards, it will be easier to get off if you can brace yourself on the wall....yeah, I know how debilitating it can be.

Were you given any muscle relaxants? Offered physical therapy? Given instructions on use of ice?

If you are not getting physical therapy, check online for a routine that will stretch and strengthen your back muscles and core. Pick a routine specifically for back pain, not just strengthening.

I pulled my back out while working about 4 years ago and had a massive lower back spasm. My back has never been the same at all. Every couple of months, I will undergo another back muscle spasm which literally kills me with pain. When I go to the doctor, all they do is throw pain killers and somas at me, which does nothing to help the issue. What has really helped me has been massages every now and then, since I've been getting professional massages on my back, I haven't had any more really bad episodes.
