Hello all

Hiya, I am new here and thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.

I'm Sam and I live in South Norfolk. I have a desk job but I do get out and about quite a bit as well.

Having battled PCOS for the past 15 years, I finally decided to take matters into my own hands last year and did a 90 day challenge - started walking, swimming, pilates, and a one-on-one session at the gym once a week with a PT. I made slight tweaks to my diet - I am wheat/lactose free anyway - but I cut down on alcohol, removed white potatoes from the equation and upped the veg intake. The result? I lost 22lbs in those three months!

I've had January off - it's always my sloth month, plus my birthday, and have put on 2lbs in that time.

I am now getting back into it all again - did a 3km walk yesterday, have an hour of pilates to enjoy tonight, and a new fitness class tomorrow morning. I am also signing up for the 10km Race for Life in May, which will be a mix of walking and running.

I don't think in terms of weight but rather dress size when it comes to how much I want to lose. While I've only put on 2lbs, I know I am bloated again and my body has changed shape once more. Water really is key to weight loss, IMO, and flushing everything through really makes a huge difference to me!

Anyway, that's me, and I look forward to meeting some of you on here, and to reaching my next target. I fly Down Under in four weeks, and I'd ideally like to make that 20lbs (having put on two) 27lbs gone by then!

Congrats! I love this site because we're all here for the same reason, to support each other! Keep it up!
  • Thanks Bob!

I should have added - part of the reason I didn't exercise in January so much was that I was waiting for the results of a MRI. Well, they came through Saturday, they are clear, and I've just done three main sets of exercise in three days!

Totally Awesome, keep up the great work. It's scary having to wait for MRI results, so glad you're in the clear.

Hi I've just joined too. After suffering a back injury I had to stop the gym and my horse riding lessons. My weight went up to 9 stone 8 I am only small and was normally around 8 stone 9 anyway I now go to the gym again and have lost 2 pound. Doing weight watches points but it's nice to see what I'm eating in calories on here.
  • Hi Bob, PCOS is a girl-thing - lots of lovely cysts and the like, and it affects your weight including your ability to deal with sugar and the like. And thanks - I intend to keep up the good work!

Hi Tagwild & welcome - I hope all goes well for you!
