Soul Destroying - No loss

Hi,
I have been trying to lose even just 1lb since seriously starting back into my fitness 3 months ago. I didnt expect much of a loss in the first month but it has now been 3 months and I have just gone down by one pound then gained it back the next week.
My weight WILL NOT MOVE!!
I have been checked for medical problems and everything is clear.
I have tried eating 1400 calories and NOT eating back the ones burned off -
Someone said that might be too low so I have increased to 1700 and was NOT eating back calories and still nothing.
I was told that I needed to feed the muscle so increase my protein - have done that with NO change.
Tried low carb, tried high protein, tried several small meals during the day. No weight loss.
I am at the gym at least 4 times a week doing body step, body pump, body attack, running, circuits.
Why is my weight not reducing. I am so upset by this!
(Also my clothes do not fit better either)
please help me.

weight loss is all about calories.
Calories in <calories out.
Do you weigh your food on a scale and use measuring cups for liquid? If your answer is no you are probably eating more than you think....
Are you exercising and eating back all the calories? If so you are probably eating more than you think as the burns recorded by MFP and machines and HRM (with no chest strap) are nortoriously high.
Are you choosing the correct entries in the database? meaning non generic, non homemade, non user entered? if you are using those chances are you are eating more than you think...0 -
If you are not losing weight, you're not eating at a deficit.
Are you weighing your food? Are you logging every little thing you eat, every single day?
Also, opening up your diary might help others give you insight.0 -
Hi
I record my calories burned with a heart rate monitor with a chest strap - it is all set up correctly for my weight, age etc so should be accurate. Plus I always take off 50cals just incase so I am not putting in more calories burned as I like to air on the side of caution with it.
I dont tend to use generic selections on MFP. I have my own recipes which I scan all the ingredients and divide in to portions to get the calories. I always try to find the right products as well. Only when I cannot find the item I use a generic option as close to what I have eaten.
I do not weigh my food but I dont eat a lot of things like rice or pasta when I am cooking. I eat things like vegetables and salads with the meals.
I dont think I would be going over on my food so badly that for 2 months I have not lost a singe pound especially with all the fitness I have been doing both cardio and strength training.
I have non controlled days at the weekend but even then I track what I am eating and for the week I am still showing as at a deficit so I should have lost?
I will open diary up, was not aware I had it private still.
Thanks0 -

If you are not weighing then you are most definitely eating more than you think. Vegetables and salads still have calories, especially if you eat them with salad dressing/sauces.0 -

Yes, you're eating more than you think if you're not weighing. You'd be surprised. Your oatmeal, your fruit, your veggies, everything. It all adds up.
It's been 3 months. If you were eating at a deficit, you would have lost weight by now. Since you haven't, then you're not at a deficit. The first place to look is your food intake. Start weighing your food and I bet you'll see where those extra calories are coming from.

^^^ this + Your HRM may be giving you more calories than you are actually burning too :-) They are only estimates based on average people and you may be unfortunately at one end of the line (perhaps). I would recommend you log even at the weekends, weigh everything and log absolutely everything. Its great you are looking for answers because you will find them. As people have said though although the numbers tell you you are eating at a deficit the reality is that you are not and by really tightening up your logging you may find the solution0

I agree with the others. Get a scale and use it for everything! I'm constantly surprised when I weigh my food. For instance, I was eating an Artisan bread from Costco. The label said that 1/8 of a loaf was 57 grams. I was slicing it very thin and getting about 25 slices out of the loaf, so I was counting a slice as about 1/3 of a serving. It wasn't. When I weighed the loaf it was several ounces over the 16 ounces listed on the label. And two of my thin slices we 57 grams. I eat this every day and was greatly underestimating the calories.
I weigh and measure everything. Even salads add up to about 100 calories without the dressing by the time I'm finished with them!
You can get a great scale that weighs in grams, ounces, lbs, and kg for about $15.00 from Amazon. Best purchase you'll make for your weightloss efforts.0 -
Try not to use volume measurements for solid foods either, use a decent digital kitchen scale. One persons cup of pasta could be quite different from another's, but a gramme is a gramme.
Does your HRM show total Calories burned or additional exercise Calories only? Mine shows total Calories, so I have to knock off 100 / hr for loggin purposes.0 -

Yah I looked at your diary and you need to get a scale...I weigh my cereal, veggies, meat...measure with cups/tsp milk, oil etc.
You will be surprised at the variances you will find...as well you didn't log at all this weekend....
And with the HRM if you aren't doing Steady state cardio...ie running at a steady pace it isn't that accurate.0
