    My favorite combinations are

    1. Cottage cheese/ half an apple diced up into cubes / few packets of Spelnda / cinnamon

    2. Cottage cheese / Frank's Hot Sauce

usually I just put a bit of sea salt and some crushed black pepper. but once in a while I'll mix in 1/4 cup black beans with 1/2 cup cottage cheese. it's a nice change. i've never tried fruit, and never would. it's all a matter of individual taste.

but I have a couple of flax crackers with my cottage cheese too. they're much healthier than regular crackers. I like them a lot. try them if they're available in your area. the ones I get are called "flackers" and are available at the health food store.
  • for sweet - pineapple or pickled peaches

for savory - salsa and cottage cheese with crackers (so good!)
  • I like tomatoes, but sometimes I really jazz it up with tomatoes, fresh jalapeno, green onions, and some avocado

    Yum!

I quite like cottage cheese, though. :D
  • Looking for some ideas - I used to have cottage cheese on Ryvita with sliced tomato a few times a week, but I'm trying to avoid crackers/bread etc for a while. What do you put on/eat with cottage cheese?

    It's so versatile!

This morning I had it with honey and nuts (walnuts, pecans and some hazelnuts), but usually I put it on salads, baked potatoes, toast - whole seeded batch loaf with cottage cheese and sweet chilli sauce is LUSH!

Here are some of my favourites:

    - on a jacket potato with tuna, spring onions and black pepper
    - dolloped on top of a bowl of soup instead of creme fraiche
    - with fresh or canned fruit or berries
    - on top of French toast with some berries and maple syrup
    - with a crumbled small meringue nest and chopped strawberries (basically a healthy version of Eton mess)

Some really good ideas here - thank you all. I have to confess I'm not keen on citrus or more acidic fruits (like pineapple) with dairy (lemon or orange yoghurts...why?!?!?!), but I'll certainly give some of the others a try!

Tomatoes and black pepper. Sometimes I'll put it on top of toast with the tomatoes and black pepper. Delish!
