Can't get full without going over my limit!

I just started the program several days ago. I've been eating healthy ever since, or so I think. It appears that, when I reach my limit of 1700 by the end of the day, I still feel hungry. Not sure if this is normal (first time trying to lose weight outside of playing sports) but I think I may be missing something. Can anybody suggest foods that are great to stay full so I don't cross my limit OR go to bed hungry?

18 yr male at 1700 means you're going to bed hungry. How much are you trying to lose?
Edit: Eat more protein. Looks like you're at the MFP default settings. It's definitely not enough for an 18yr male cutting.0 -
First off, you seem to burn between 300 and 500 cals, if you only eat 1700 that puts you between 1200-1400 cals net a day
You are a 18 years old male, that sounds very low.

East more bulk foods and liquids. Bulk foods are those that have a lot of water content like raw vegetables and fresh fruit. Recently my favorite dinner has been home made turkey rice soup. Starts with about 2-3 cups of home made turkey broth (skimmed off all of the fat of course), add 1/2 cup rice and 3 ounces of roast turkey breast no skin. Sure does fill me up for not a lot of calories.0

Fewer carbs, more protein and fiber! I would never make it to lunch if I just had granola bars for breakfast. You could also try 5 or 6 smaller meals rather than 3 bigger meals - this works for some people, sucks for others, you just have to give it a shot. Drink a LOT of water. Exercise and eat back at least half of those calories. Feel free to add me for ideas! My goal is around the same number of calories and I rarely feel hungry.
Edit: Also, with only 10-15 pounds to lose, a healthy weight loss goal would be .5 pounds per week. What do you have it set at?0 -
Eat mostly lean protein and veggies. Protein keeps you full longer. Lean protein doesn't count against your calories as much.
Source: Low carb dieter for 8 months. I struggle to get over 1000 net calories a day eating grilled chicken, lean hamburger, eggs, fish, asparagus, and onions and green beans mostly. I end up eating one high calorie food (sausage, protein bar, etc) a day to keep my body out of starvation mode.0 -

Did you pick 2 lb/week? Doesn't sound like you're in too bad of shape, especially if you've been active in sports in high school. Unless you're really small I wouldn't suggest anything under 2k.
Lift, eat at least 130g of protein, and if you're at target and hungry, drink water.0 -
DON"T skip breakfast. I recommend oatmeal, it really sticks with you in the mornings.
Ditch the granola bars for things that have higher protein and fiber counts. Almonds, an apple, celery with peanut butter. You'll find you'll feel much more full on less calories.
I'd also recommend trying to get at least a 400 of your daily calories from snacks. I for one can't go from breakfast to lunch or from lunch to dinner without eating.
Try to keep your meal calories more balanced, 400,400,400, 400 to avoid spikes and drops in your blood sugar levels.0 -
How active are you? How often do you work-out?
Rough estimate if you hit the gym 3 times a week would be about 2750 cal for maintenance.
If you kept to 2000 cal per day, you'd still lose about a pound and a half per week.
Like everyone else said, eat more protein and veggies. More real food and less cereal and snack bars.
