DigiFit synching inaccurate exercise descriptions with MFP

I recently bought a Mio Alpha heart rate monitor, and it interfaces well with Digifit (Mio doesn’t have its own app). However, the exercise descriptions are either totally generic / and or flat out wrong when they synch with MFP. For example, exercises like elliptical, weight training, snow plowing, ice skating, roller skating, etc., become “Aerobics, general”. No matter what pace I run, it synchs as: Running (jogging), 5 mph (12 min mile). On the positive side, it does get the minutes and calories right.

I have noticed other threads discussing this issue from several months ago, yet obviously it still happens. Can an admin look into this again?

If not, can anyone recommend a good fitness app that interfaces well with the popular HR monitors (not something that is just built for a dedicated monitor, like I believe that Polar and Fitbit do) and also synchs properly with accurate descriptions?

Thank you!

Is the description that important to you or do the calories/duration matter more?

My run yesterday transferred as "Running (jogging), 7 mph (8.5 min mile)" .... pretty much dead on.

It all matters - I track my speed and distance to measure my progress, especially when I'm training for a big race like a marathon.

The other day I did a run in the 7mph range and it transferred to Digifit as a "Leisurely Walk, 2mph". That is ridiculous, and I'm sure friends look at my calorie burn for just a "40 minute walk" and think I'm fudging my numbers. I'm probably just going to disconnect it and hand transfer my times, which is unfortunate given that it isn't exactly cutting edge science to transfer a tiny bit of data accurately.

I like Digifit a lot but my experience was that is way overestimated calorie burn. I ran simultaneous readings with various gym equipment, body media and two different polar products ( yes I was WIRED LOL). they were all comparable to each other but digifit was at least 40% high. Your experience may vary but I stopped using it for the burn numbers.

Interesting. I have did rough comparisons between Digifit (paired with my Mio Alpha HR monitor) and treadmills / eliptical, and found them to be ballpark and not really favoring one or the other. It is something I'll keep my eye on as I continue to use it, thanks.

I did not notice it either until I did a few fitness tests. The VO2 change may have driven it but could not get it back even after changing VO2 to default. Customer service could not help.

I am having a similar issue synching MapMyFitness with MyFitnessPal.
Exercises such as a simple Regular muscle gain workout becomes "full body.vigorous effort" ( "Calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups), on MyFitness Pal. I think they could simply "translate" it as "other workout" or something. That's better than any inaccuracy.
