I know nothing about protein shakes, but I have tried protein bars. I have eaten a rather high number of calories today due to being home all day so I wanted to see if it would be wise to eat a protein bar/shake for dinner to try to keep my calories low. I never do this and don't plan to make it a habit. What do you think?

I do it pretty often as a meal replacement at night after the gym.0

I drink a protein shake for breakfast every morning. I have half before my morning workout and the other half after. It really helps to keep my energy levels high and I take solace in the fact that I am getting a lot of the vitamins and minerals I need from something that tastes like chocolate0

Protein bars are packed with sugar. Protein shakes would be a better option. You can get a small ready to drink Muscle Milk just about anywhere. i like BSN Lean Dessert protein, 150 calories per scoop.0
