I'm new too

I've been dieting for a long time and can't seem to lose weight. My chiropractor told me about how wheat and wheat gluten could be the reason. I'm going to give it a try. Has anyone experienced the results of giving up wheat products? I've been on this site for a long time but never posted so I consider myself new.

Is your chiropractor a registered dietician?

If not, I wouldnt listen to their advice and do your own research. The only reason to cut out a food group is because youre allergic to it. And gluten is in a lot of items so unnecessarily cutting it out will be a pain
  • Giving up wheat gluten will make finding things to eat harder. In essence, removing breads, pastas, and other "wheat glute" products makes you follow a lower carb diet. I believe everything is okay in moderation and tracking what you eat is essential so that you learn to eat. planning your day in advance can help. Try adding snacks throughout the day, such as sugar free jello and protein drinks that are low in carbs/sugar, to help you stay fuller longer. I would say Casein protiens would be best since they are slow digesting proteins.

When I found out that my kids where allergic to gluten I went gluten free because it was easier than keeping food separate. I lost 25lbs in less than a year. I'm pretty sure that was because I cut out most breads, pastas, cereals and processed foods. (You'd be surprised what the add gluten too)

That was a few years ago when it was really hard to find gluten free items. Especially in a small town. Now days there's all kinds of gluten free breads and pastas and such that I'm not sure I would have had the same result today.
