Quest. I like the chocolate brownie. They're the only bars my kid will eat because the have the most protein for the least calories.

I make my own and love them (260cal, 35g Protn)::

Protein Powder: 14oz (I have started using the Body Fortress Peanut Butter and using less actual peanut butter)
    Oats: 7oz
    Cocoa Powder: 1oz
    Peanut Butter: 3oz
    Honey: 3oz
    Skim Milk: up to 3/4cup
Ground Flax seed: rolled as reqd (absorbs the stickiness and is good)
    Craisins scattered as needed.

Hard to mix - sticky - great to eat and BETTER than what you buy (I think)! Experiment and change things up!

(Forgot to mention...Thanks to Scooby's Workshop for the original recipe)

Im a Quest believer too! Tried them all and stuck with Quest. The Atkins made me sick from all the sugar alcohols they use. You can actually contact Quest and they will send you a sample of your choice. They are just that good!

Here is a table. Basically the best one is Detour at only 150 cals and a high 10% protein/cal ratio. But QuestBar, Pure Protein Bar, Protein Plus, and thinkThin are OK.

    % cals g/pro Name
    03% 230 06 Larabar
    03% 180 05 Kind Fruit&Nut
    05% 190 10 Nature Valley
    07% 205 14 powerCrunch
    09% 230 20 thinkThin
    10% 310 30 ProteinPlus
    10% 150 15 Detour
    10% 200 20 QuestBar
    11% 190 20 Pure Protein

I got the nutrition info from here: http://tinyurl.com/ljugzrv

They are $1.50 per bar with prime shipping on Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/m83eu8d

Detour bars taste great, but they use soy instead of whey. So if you're trying to limit soy, this is not the bar for you.

Quest and Pure Protein are whey.

I' m looking for one that is low in fat, gluten and dairy free. I really don't have time to make my own. Does anyone know of a brand out there that doesn't contain almost half the fat as the number of calories there in the actual bar?

The South Beach Diet Good to Go bars are 9 g of protein and 140 calories although not the most filling. Also... 7 g of sugar. They're super yummy though
