I'm 29 and just recently divorced which got me thinking about life as a whole epically with heart disease and diabetics in the family. After college football was over at 24 I stopped caring about my physique and did everything wrong no gym ate horrible all to the tune of my starting weight of 352 pounds. I have started a diet a week ago and just that along with my daily life I have managed to lose 10 pounds in the first 7 days. This week I'm starting to hit the gym 5 times a week. I guess I'm posting on here looking for anyone who can help with motivation or even someone who is in a similar situation I hear it's easier to try and not do this alone. Started like I said at 352 a week ago and weighed in today at 341.8

You will find this site very help - check out the forums and groups. I enjoy scoping out the blogs too. Add me as a friend if you like - I am an old lady (52) , need to loose over 100 pounds, becoming more active and working on changing my food habits (I can ignore the chips sitting next to me  ). Have had great success by logging and keeping within my goals. Find it shocking that I am loosing weight with 1700 calories a day but there is is. Don't expect 10 pounds a week - that would be dangerous. Slow and steady. Good luck in your journey.0

I'm shy too, but I found that people on here are very helpful and kind. I have 89 pounds to lose and would be happy to help motivate you if you like
If not, then good luck and keep at it!

You are young and healthy, your time to lose the weight is now. I have had success with MFP, where I didn't with W Watchers and other weight losst groups. I find the logging is paramount, as it keeps me honest with my disease of denial of being over weight, and tracking my exercise each day. I am 68 years old (could be your Mother ha) and since mid Aug., I have lost 29 lbs. Hope to reach near goal by the end of June for my Grand Daughter's Gr. 12 Grade and with MFP's help and support maintain for the rest of my life. Good luck!0
