Need snack ideas!

Hi I'm wondering if anyone has any snack ideas?
I work at a desk and really it needs to be something I can pre prepare (ideally in bulk or night before)
I work in a solicitors so as you can understand having loads of food and containers on my desk is frowned upon! Haha
I'm grateful for any ideas you all may have :)

    Have you tried just sticking to three bigger meals a day? It would make the work situation easier, and mean less prep for you!

    I found this on MFP a while back, they are YUMMY. I usually double the recipe to make larger muffins. I bake a batch every weekend and freeze them. :smile:

    Ingredients:
    1 cup mashed banana (usually 2 small VERY VERY ripe bananas)
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 cup flour
    1/2 cup old fashioned oats
    3 tablespoons all while liquid egg whites, or 1 large egg white
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 cup cinnamon applesauce
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup of sugar

    I'm a snacker, cherry tomatoes, peppers, carrots and celery all cut up, dipped in hummes or salsa.

    Dried fruit is good and not so messy, I also like pistachios and almonds.

    Morrisons do smal snack bags, they're 2 for £1 and I take them to work. My faves are the seed mix, cranberries and macademia nuts and pistachio. They are quite high calorie, but much healthier than the crisps which I crave.

    Apples
    Banana
    Apples & Peanut Butter
    Celery Stick & Peanut Butter
    Celery Sticks and Tuna
    Trail Mix {almonds, sunflower seeds, raisins etc...}
    Grapes
    Green or Red {Bell} Peppers and some dipping sauce {I usually use a Light Italian dressing}
    Granola
    Protein Bars {I like Luna Bars}
    Cucumber Slices and dipping sauce {same as with the peppers}
    Cucumber Slices with just some seasonings sprinkled on them {pepper, garlic, parsley... etc}
    Carrot Sticks and dipping sauce
    Cheese Sticks
    Hard Boiled Eggs
    Kiwi and Pineapple
    Tomato Slices w/fresh sliced mozzarella cheese {pepper to taste}
    Zucchini Chips {slice up Zucchini in thin slices and bake them before hand}
    Kale Chips {same as Zucchini Chips}
    Banana/Apple Chips
    Jerky {healthier if you make your own}
    Greek Yogurt w/Granola or fresh Berries {or both}

    These are just some of the things I bring with me for work to snack on.
  • I do fruit cups of red grapefruit, bought at the store, pre-packaged. I also like the 100 calorie snacks and Special K snacks. Small bags, no mess, no fuss, easy if you are in a hurry and have no time to prep. But on days when I have time to prep, I do the bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots with fat free ranch or italian dressing.

    I make my own protein bars. The Internet is full of ideas for homemade protein bars and it takes about 10 minutes to make a batch that will last a week.

    You can add your own ingredients to fit your taste.

    Protein bars (since these are packaged nicely and never really get old I always keep them around for when I am suddenly starving, have to work through lunch, or have to work late)
    Mixed nuts & dry fruit & pumpkins seeds
    Granola (extra good if you can keep some yogurt in the work fridge and mix them together)
    Fruit + Peanut Butter (i like apples or bananas and peanut butter- yum)
    Veggies + Hummus

    I love cutting up bananas and putting peanut butter between them. Like a miny sandwich. Grapes, almonds, cashews, I have even eaten a pre packed egg before lol. Hope it helps.

    - Buy nuts, seeds, and dried fruit (no sugar added - I like cranberries) in bulk and make your own healthy Trail Mix
    - fruit (apples, bananas, clementines, etc)
    - yogurt
    - apple or banana with peanut butter

    Good luck!

    Homemade hummus ... It's really simple and cheap to make & you can alter endlessly to suit your own taste. Dip with raw veggies or whole wheat crackers.

    I make dehydrated apples weekly and mix with nuts. A good homemade trail mix is not only packed with protein, but will fill you up. Also, perhaps cheese sticks would be filling for you.
