Hi everyone,
I'm new and looking to make some new friends!! I could really use some encouragement!!
Right now my weight is at 232, I would love to lose 20-25 pounds for an upcoming trip to Las Vegas in May. Long Term goal... haven't really set a number yet... but I want to look good
Some things I know I need to work on is to stop weight myself every day!! The major flucations from day to day are sabatoge, I swear! When it's really low, I'm super excited, then when it shoots back up the next day, I get really down and feel like "eh, whats the point". I know that the trend for the week is going down, which is all that matters, but I let them dumb scale get into my head!!! Any one else have this problem??

I weigh myself everyday, and I find that the fluctuation are helpful. If it goes down, I attribute it to the hard work I am doing, I don't overly celebrate the daily losses. I save the celebrations for the milestones. If I am up, then I take a look at my food the few days before, see what/when I ate, and then I know what I have to moderate or change. It also encourages me to do better for myself. I know a lot of people say to only weigh once a week, but if you find you are unable to stay away from the scale, maybe try to change the way you see the results. Best of luck!0

sometimes I have trouble with weighing every day but then I learned that 3500 calories = 1 pound ...so lets says you weighed yourself one say and was 230 and you KNOW you were on plan and step on scale and you are up a pound or 2 it is IMPOSSIBLE unless you ate your daily maintence amount (most people around 2200-2500) plus an additional 3500 in one day lol...so next time you step on the scale remember is is very close to impossible to gain 1 pound in just one day.....
so in order for you to actually gain 1 pound you would have needed to ate 2200=3500 in one day 5700.....this is also the reason it takes an entire week to lose 1 pound because because you have to deficit 500 calories each day.0 -
I weigh daily but I know I have a 3 pound 'swing' so as long as I'm in my 'swing' I'm ok. When I'm 'trending higher' its time to watch myself.
If it bothers you, then Don't get on the scale! Its only ONE tool! Also be sure to take pics and measure, because there will be times the scale doesn't change but the inches do! Over time you don't see your change but when you can look back, you do. Get your visual encouragement that way
Feel free to add if you're looking for more friends.0
