Just thought I'd say hello with being a newbie.

My name is Andy and I'm 37 years old and currently 118kg (5'11") although in 2009 I was 140+kg.

I used to cycle a lot then had an accident and when a bit strange and piled the weight on but then became un-strange and got a wii fit as a start then started cycling and then joined the gym.

Next June I am due to cycle Lands End to John O'Groats so am looking to get down to around 80kg to help withthe agony I currently suffer from on the hills.

  • Hi Andy

Welcome to MFP and good luck with your journey. LeJog? Cool! I'm with you on hills = agony but find it easier to cycle up hills than walk up with a laden bike (cycle camping).

I did the Devon C2C last summer and had a great time. LeJog is my ultimate ambition but thinking of doing the Hadrian's Wall route (C2C lite) next year.

  • Cycle camping is far move impressive than fully supported like we'll be doing.

I find if I get of and walk I feel as though my lungs are going to explode more than they do on the bike.
