A great fruit based one is:

    Cup of spinach or kale
    1/2 banana
    1/4 pear
    1/2 cup of green grapes
    1/2 Orange

Can also add/substiute pear with half a kiwi. If you have a vitamix - you dont even need to peel the fuzzy part

Very green but taste like fruit juice.
  • My Fav is

    1 C. Almond Milk
    2 C. Spinach or Kale
    1/2 Banana
    1 or 2 T. of Peanut butter

    Blend away and enjoy.

my boyfriend and I split a smoothie every day :)

Keep in mind that we split the following between us:
I use 2 cups of kale and 1 cup of spinach as my greens every day (32)
1-2 cups of water, whatever it needs to keep blending without having to "burp" the blender. I blend the greens and water together for a minute or so before adding any fruit.

    yesterday I added
    1 banana (90)
    4oz frozen mango (70)
    5oz frozen strawberries (50)

fills 2 pint glasses at 121 calories apiece and was super delicious.
Some days I add flax. Some days I add yogurt and almond milk. Just depends on how late I wake up and how many calories I need to get in before I go to work :)

    I LOVE GREEN SMOOTHIES

the best rule i've ever heard is the 3/2 rule... which basically means you use 2 cups (85g) spinach (or kale) and then add 3 cups of whatever fruit you like

this is the one i make every day (it makes 2 16oz servings)

2 cups non-sweetened Almond milk (but you can use any liquid you like)
    2 cups spinach (85g)
    - blend these together first, then add...
    1 apple (about 125g)
    1 banana (about 120g)
    1 serving frozen berries (140g)

you can leave them in the fridge for a day or so, just make sure to shake them well because the liquid and semi solids will separate over night (which is all about density and has no effect on the taste or nutrition)

    A great beginner smoothie:

    1 cup water
    1 banana
    1/2 cup mango
    1/2 cup pineapple
    1 heaping handful of spinach

SO GOOD! Even better when you freeze the mango and pineapple!

My wife introduced me to PB2 so I've been really enjoying it as follows ...

    Serves 2

    2 Cups Almond Milk
    1 banana
    1.5-2 cups frozen, chopped kale
    1.5 tbsp PB2
    1 cup 0% greek yogurt
    1 tbsp cocoa powder
    1 tbsp honey
    1 tbsp chia seeds
    ~0.5 scoops muscle milk

just under 300 calories, depending on the size of the banana

    2/3 cup blueberries
    2/3 cup strawberries
    1 banana
    1 cup greek plain yogurt
    1 T ground flax seed
A handfull or two of spinich
If I use frozen berries, then I sometimes add in a splash of milk too so its not as thick.
