Troube with quantity!!!

Had a kind of epiphany today-I really like healthy food. Like can I see myself eating these things for the rest of my life? YES! I still really enjoy the food I eat, so I thought to myself, then what makes dieting hard?
I realized I have problems with quantity. I am eating good food, I just always want to eat MORE of it, even when I am full/satisfied.
Anyone else struggle with this? How do you combat it?

well even "good" foods in excess will make you gain weight...

So I eat until I am satisfied and remember it is a calorie surplus that made me fat not the types of foods I ate.

in a simple word, your brain.

Dieting IS hard - your mind sees it as a withdrawal from what it thinks it wants and/or needs and starts to crave.

Change your mindset to lifestyle change, eating healthy, whatever works from you OTHER than dieting.

Like quitting smoking, if you say I'm quitting the cravings hit hard, but if you say I'm not smoking for one hour, well that's doable, and just repeat it the next hour, and so on.

Our minds are usually our worst saboteur!

Good luck with your "lifestyle change" :)

Look at the composition of your "good food." You can eat gluten-free bagels all day and they won't be particularly filling, while foods that are high in protein and fats are much more satiating. You don't have to go "low carb" but if you find yourself not feeling satiated, you may want to avoid meals/snacks that are purely carbs in lieu of meals/snacks that incorporate some protein.

I actually do try to eat (relatively) low carb-pretty much completely cut out white flour. I totally agree with what you and everyone else is saying, but it is less a problem with not getting full as it is a problem of stopping when I'm full. I suppose this might just be a me problem, but I was wondering if anyone had experience shutting down the "just one more" thoughts.
