tread climber

I was wondering if anyone out there has a tread climber and if so how do they like it? I am not that fit but want to buy one to tone up my thighs, hips, and back side. Is there a beginners setting so I start with baby steps? Does it take up a lot of room? I have a one bedroom apartment but not a lot of space.
I have a stationary bike now but it is not toning up my thighs much.

i have one and dont use it much, maybe because i have it set up in a corner facing the wall. if you have it set up so you can watch some tv or something it might be better for bad weather days. it does burn more calories than regular walking, but for me i would rather be outside. mine only takes up about 4 ft by 3 ft. the other bad thing is they are expensive if you can get one used of craigslist or ebay that would be the way to go or get an eliptical machine for wal-mart it would take up less space cost you about 1/10 of the price and give you the same workout. hoped this helped in your decision.0
