good chill music

I'm looking for a comparable channel to "the sound you need" on youtube. Looking for laid back music, generally with lead female vocals, instruments and/or infusion of orchestra elements. If this is your style of music, what channels are you subscribed to?

I'd also be interested in mellow indie music. Stuff that is catchy but you wouldn't really see getting a lot of airtime. Acoustic music especially.

I haven't heard of Wax Tailor but I'll check them out. Massive Attack and Portishead I've definitely listen to a lot. Presently I'm listening to a youtube channel by "Nigel Stately". His playlists are definitely my cup of tea.

    Keep them coming...

Howling Bells. They sound sort of like a more uptempo Mazzy Star. I came across them when downloading tons of random Mp3s a few years ago looking for something new to listen to. Ended becoming one of my favorite bands of the last 10 years. Don't think they ever sold many albums though. :/

Go look on 8tracks.com, So many playlists. You'll find what you like.

Not a channel but just discovered:

    Emily King - Distance
  • Considering you said mellow indie music and the channel you posted I think you would like this Chutes Too Narrow album by The Shins like that.

The type of album you want to clean your house to one delightful spring morning and have it playing in the background and it takes you to a whole different world, but in a chill way...

The full album is on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GBFydFYoQE

I listen to a lot of music like that. Those are some of my favorites right now. Never get tired of Massive Attack or Sneaker Pimps though. If you don't already have, might try some Tricky.

    This is a favorite too.

Used that to start a Pandora channel I listen to a lot.
