Sparkling Water - Who drinks it?

I bought some La Croix - Orange, and I had really high hopes. I guess I've never tried sparkling water before, but I really hate it. It tastes awful to me. Is it something I should stick with, and it will grow on me?

I really want to like it!

My wife used to drink this all the time. now she buys plain sparkling water and keeps a bag of mixed frozen fruit in the freezer and adds the fruit. its cheaper and better she says.

I haven't had that brand, I usually just get the two liters of club soda for less than $1. I love mine almost frozen, with a squeeze of lime.

I usually just drink plain sparkling water (no flavor), whenever I don't feel like drinking regular water. Sometimes I'll add a squeeze of lemon juice, but not often.

I used to, as a transition from Pepsi to water. Now I just drink still.

La Croix is disgusting to me. Try something else. It may just be the brand you don't like.

I weaned myself off soda by mixing it with sparkling water, gradually increasing the ratio of sparkling water to soda over time. Now I drink it straight with a squeeze of lemon or lime. It's refreshing without being sweet.

You can mix it with juice, too. I use equal parts cranberry juice or orange juice with soda water. Yum!

I will see what other brands they have at my Commissary. They are pretty limited on their selection in general (it's kind of annoying). Anyhow, mixing regular sparkling water with juice sounds good. Or maybe I can find another brand some of you have mentioned that is already flavored, and try that.

I recently decided to cut down on the amount of soda I drink to 1 Diet Coke a day. I LOVE carbonated beverages, though, so I thought that sparkling water would be the way to go. Now, I'll do a can of LaCroix Pure (no flavor), really cold and over ice, with a squeeze of lemon and a squeeze of Crystal Light Strawberry Lemonade. It is FABULOUS! I get the bubbles, the sweet but no caffeine or caramel chemicals (from DC). The rest of the day, it's water or Crystal Light (mostly water).
I decided to do non-flavored soda, b/c I've found that usually, flavored seltzer is nasty.
Try adding lemon or lime juice to your orange flavor to see if that livens it up. Or Mio. Or Crystal Light... :)

I started out using a small squeeze of MIO type liquids in it. In a 24oz cup I'd put a lot of ice, little squeeze of mio (crystal like, koolaid any brand that had tthe right flavor) and then add the seltzer/sparkling water. Out of a 24 serving bottle of MIO I would get 50+ 24oz cups.

I love Polar brand pomegranate, their brand in general is more expensive but good. I buy store brand or Vintage brand as well.

I've also added True Lemon (lime or orange) pkts or fresh squeeze of lemon or lime.
  • Topo Chico is my go-to brand for sparkling water. Lemon/lime slices are good in it too.
  • I drink sparkling water all the time, love it so much I bought a Soda Stream so I could make my own and not have to lug bottles of water home.
  • Try the brand Polar! They have a lot of options flavor-wise, and their flavor is a lot more subtle, yet sweet than other seltzers I've had. I LOATHED sparkling water/seltzer, until I came across Polar. It's really the only brand I'll drink. :) They also have seasonal flavors, which are really delicious: the summer's mint mojito and pina colada flavors are to die for!

Like somebody else here mentioned, it may just be the brand, you know? I've never seen seltzer as something to acquire a taste for. I also don't see the point in forcing yourself to eat or drink something, with the hopes that it would one day taste good, if you can get those nutrients elsewhere. Seeing how you can get the same hydration benefits from 5 billion trillion other brands of seltzer, why don't you give them a try before you force yourself to become accustomed to something you don't care for? :)
