No results?

Hey guys... new to myfitnesspal so hi!

I've been having issues lately, maybe someone can give me some insight.
First of all I'm 5'7, 135 lbs. I've been working out for years and years so I'm pretty lean and toned. I've basically changed everything up about 2-2 1/2 weeks ago and I feel like I'm not seeing any results to show.

I've always been pretty thin (I've been hitting the gym for 7 years or so now) but I can't seem to get rid of that last bit of stubborn belly fat. I'm eating better: started eating quest bars, protein shakes... salads and salmon, chicken, etc. I try to eat less carbs and I pretty much never have fast food at all anymore. I also cut down my drinking and I even eat high fiber oatmeal in the morning or special k cereal. I eat or snack every 3 hours or so. I have a piece of chocolate or maybe half a cookie when I'm craving something sweet.

I've upped my weights recently... lots of squats and stuff and I'm definitely seeing some change in that area (glutes and legs are growing, arms are seeming more toned, hips widening a bit). I work out 6 days a week usually but I switch it up, one day I'll do legs and steady cardio, the next day I'll do arms and HIIT cardio, the next day I'll do back and abs and light legs and mixed up my cardio. Once in a blue moon I will do only cardio and no weight training. I try to do HIIT as often as I can but if my joints are bothering me I don't, just to play it safe and avoid injury.

I don't understand how I've almost completely changed (for the better) and I can't seem to get rid of this belly fat. I'm not really trying to lose weight (plus I may gain in muscle), I think I'm at a healthy weight and I'm pretty satisfied with my body... but if I could just lose a little bit of it I'd be satisfied. Am I just expecting results too soon? I usually see results pretty fast since I'm already thin. Any insight would be great... thanks!

  • Sounds like you are on the right track. You probably just need to be patient. :ohwell: 2-2.5 weeks is NOT very long at all and it takes time to see results. Maybe take a before picture, and your measurements. When you look at your self critically everyday, its hard to see results... but if you put your two pictures of a month or so side by side, you might notice changes easier. I like the BodyTrackIt app for that. It has a great picture comparison tool, and is easy to track your weight, body fat, BMI, measurements.

I would say give yourself more time to notice the progress you are making and do NOT give up. Every good choice is making a difference from the inside out.

Good luck on your journey Dakotalovexx. :flowerforyou:

Wait, has it been just two weeks or a while two and a half weeks? At two weeks I wouldn't worry but after an entire 2.5 weeks has passed without significant change I'd start panicking. Definitely

Frankly if it was me I'd just throw in the towel.

Low carbs, frequent meals, no junk food, changing it up . . .

OP, what about just eating at deficit that you know exists because you weigh your food?

    And then be patient.

Just be patient, OP. Track you calories and macros and do your workouts, and realize that especially when you're already slim and fit these things take time.

That's my question - and what is your daily calorie goal, and do you meet it?
