Will my skin snap back after weightloss?

Ok Im very overweight!! 2 weeks ago I was 18.5 stone, I am now 17.4 stone!! Reason why I have lost so much weight is because I have signed up for diet chef. Its going amazing at the moment and very pleased with the results. However, Im really worried that I will have saggy skin when I reach my target weight. I was 18.5 stone when I started, and I want to get down to 11 stone. Im not doing exercise at the moment as I havent done any in years and would probably have a heart attack if I did. But as soon as I lose 2 stone, then I will start off walking for 20mins, and then gradually going for longer. Im 22, and by the end of it, Im hoping to have lost a total of 7.5 stone!! Will my skin snap back? Im drinking plenty of water everyday, and have got the slender tone machine for my arms and doing that everyday. I do have stretch marks, will that make a difference to whether my skin will snap back? I dont mind if it takes years for my skin to go back to normal, I would just like to know that it would!! Im spending out a lot of money on this diet and I really want to be healthy, but I keep thinking whats the point if I will still have all of that skin with me FOREVER!! Dont want to go down the surgery route. But if theres any exercises that you know that will make my skin snap back, or whether because Im young that it will snap back, but just taking years? I will be VERY VERY grateful if you could help. Thank you in advance, and take care!! xxx

Losing a stone in 2 weeks sounds very unhealthy and certainly not sustainable. Also, you are paying somebody money to prepare part of your meals and you still have to buy fresh fruit and veggies. It's really best you learn to prepare your own meals as this is a lifelong journey.
There's no telling what will happen with your skin but super fast weightloss like that won't help. The one thing you got going for you is your age.0 -
Im 28 and when i started officially i was 17 stone, but i was bigger originally.. I am working out and eating a calorie deficit.. If you would like to add me feel free so you can see what someone with the same "build" is doing! :flowerforyou:0

I'm afraid you definitely will have saggy/excess skin, at least for a while. Exercising as you lose weight will help this, but also luckily you are still young so your skin will indeed start to 'snap back' over a year or two. You can use coconut oil, cocoa butter or vitamin E cream to speed the process as well.0

I have heard that the slower (I know, its not what u want to hear) the weight loss, provided it is consistent, the less chance you will have of ending up with saggy skin once u reach your goal weight. Rapid loss, apart from being dangerous and unsustainable for the long haul, will almost definitely result in excess and flappy skin if you have lost a great deal of weight, - which you will have done at your goal weight.
Slow and steady, thats the key. Try trusting MFP to set your calorie limits and stick to that......it will automatically reset (reduce) the figure as you start to lose the weight.......
Best wishes to you and good luck.
By the way, I think your approach to exercise is spot on.0 -
I was 20 stone 9 when i started and im now 18 stone 9. I started 90 days ago as am losing a steady 2lb a week. I am 40 and have the same worry as you. I have also been told as already mentioned that the slower the loss the better the chances of skin spring back. Plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated will also help. Swimming is also a huge help. I go at least once a week and swin for an hour each time. It is low impact and wont put to much strain on the old ticker. I think the other main goal is to make your own meals as it will come a time that the cost will just go higher and higher. There are plenty of books and web sites that can help with what to eat and how to cook it. One book that is really good is the hairy dieters, over 200 easy to cook meals and treats.
If you want to add me as a friend and see what i have on my daily plan please feel free. Follow the MFP logger and you cant go wrong.

OK i'm not sure how stones translate to pounds but I can tell you that I too was really overweight at one point. my arms and tummy went back just great, no prob, but my legs (which were my "Biggest" problem when I was heavy!) were saggy. I had a "thigh lift" done (basically skin removal) but it didn't work very well, my legs are still not my best asset and, I have come to accept, never will be. I was also young when I lost the weight and drank a lot of water, but skin is only so elastic......... it just depends on how much you've stretched it out I guess. :grumble:0
