I think cheese is fine in moderation. If you're looking for a way to save some calories with sliced cheese, you might try those Sargento Ultra Thin slices. The cheddar ones are only 45 calories per slice. Others might suggest reduced fat cheese, but aside from part-skim mozzarella, I think RF cheese tastes and melts like plastic!0

Why in God's name would you think cheese is bad?
Is it the fat?
Low fat went the way of the dinosaurs.
Is it dairy?
Please tell me you're not listening to PETA for nutritional advice.
Eat your cheese. It is a great source of protein, calcium and dietary fats.0 -
Cheese is awesome. Making homemade mac n' cheese right now with high protein/omega-3 pasta; it's filling, full of macro and micronutrients, and fantastic.0

No.
Cheese is very good! I eat it every day!0 -
Is cheese bad? No. Are many cheeses calorie-dense? Yes. Throw some on your wrap, but don't eat 2 blocks of cheddar everyday.0
-
Yes!! I will dispose of All the nasty cheese for your health's sake please keep refrigerated til I get there ... But Only so it doesn't smell on way to the ummm disposal ... Yeah disposal ;p0

I eat cheese every day. There are no bad foods. It's about how much you eat of any food that will make a difference.0

If you like cheese and you're not lactose intolerant, then bring on the CHEESE PLEASE!
You can eat ANYTHING in moderation!0 -
Cheese is delicious almost as good as bacon! Just had yummy homemade bacon loaded mac n cheese and it was delicious! Make it fit into your day!0

I think the blue cheese in my fridge might be bad. It's looking a little more blue than usual.0

It probably just needs a shave0 -
Blue cheese on a warm baguette, what could be more beautiful.......sorry had to wipe the dribble.0

Cheese is awesome, especially on pizza!! Anything in moderation is good.0

I LOVE cheese. I eat a lot of string cheese for snacks during the day.
I do try to get the reduced fat string cheese when I can, since I have a very low fat macro, but other than that? Eat up. :happy:0 -
NO, cheese is wonderful. Have cheese every day. Smoked provolone, Jarlsberg, string cheese, smoked gouda, Canadian Black Diamond cheddar, all great. Just avoid crap like Velveeta and "American processed cheese" in the individually wrapped slices; that stuff is plastic, not cheese.0

I just thought avoiding cheese period when trying to lose weight.... I will look into lower cal cheese an eat in moderation..ty!0

Does it fit your macros?
Most cheese is very high in fat and has similar calorie density to chocolate.
I really like cheese, which means I don't buy 'proper' cheese because I'll eat it. Eat it all.
The two I do eat is weight watchers mature cheddar - 30g protein and 10g fat - 210 calories / 100g and 'lighter' mozzarella which is 22.9 protein and 11g fat so around 205 calories / 100g.
Lots of protein works well for me and generally can 'handle' the low fat.0 -
This is my favorite cheese to have on garlic and herb Triscuits......

Cheese is calorie-dense so I don't eat as much of it as I'd like...but that's because "as much of it as I'd like" is pretty much ALL THE CHEESE THERE IS and that's not the best idea even if you're not trying to lose weight. If you love cheese, plan for it. If you don't love cheese all that much and can easily skip it, well, there's more room for foods you do love.0

Cheese is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.0
-
Nah, some cheese just smells bad.0
-
No it's delicious. It's just calorie dense.
Calorie dense =/= bad0 -
Cheese is the greatest thing in creation.
Except maybe beer.0 -
You might think the cheese is bad, but really all it needs is love and discipline.0

I used to eat cheese at almost every single meal and lots of it like almost 1 to 2 cups per meals. I've cut the portions I eat down to 1/4 cup max at each meal. I could never give up cheese.0
-
It's fine barring you don't have any food allergies or intolerances0
-
Cheese is good with almost everything.0

Okay, some cheeses are full of fat and calories, and you gotta plan for them.
But for everyday...
A light mozzerella cheese stick is my 'go to' snack. Low cal, low carb, low fat...with protein and calcium (I think CheeseHeads brand makes the yummiest.)
A melted 40 cal. Sargento Ultra Thin slice of cheese turns a boring, broiled chicken breast into something delicious!0
