my goal is to lose weight for my wedding and feel healthyer after having our baby0

If you like hummus, you can try that with pita chips. I am trying to gain weight and I am hungry all the time. Eat, just make sure it isn't total crap and you eat until you're full. Nothing more or less.0
-
I was really hungry all day for the first few weeks. Snacking on fruit and drinking herbal tea helped a lot.0
-
I'm always hungry Sugar-free jelly is about 40 cals for a pints worth...cauliflour and mushrooms also have a pretty low cal-to-volume ratio!0
-
Switch to foods with lower calorie density. For instance, a cup of cherry tomatoes is 30 calories, a cup of green pepper is closer to 15. Depending on how you cook it, a 4-oz chicken breast is 140 calories. The point, is you get more food for fewer calories.0

Protein keeps you full - maybe try eating protein rich foods.0

give us an example of something you eat that then makes you hungry an hour later?
or open your diary0 -
I agree protein is a good way to keep full. You could try having complex carbohydrates too. (Not the processed ones) You need ones which take a time to become properly digested because they make proper use of the body's systems. Simple, refined carbs are too easily accessible so they are quickly distributed by an over worked system.
all the best0 -
Drink some water? Do something to take your mind of your hunger.
Perhaps you're using your calories during the day to eat stuff that wont fill you up in the first place.
And lastly, (this may be controversial in a world of eating disorders) but personally, I like feeling hungry as I think that if I'm hungry then it means that my body is using its fat reserve there and then. To me feeling hungry = losing weight.0 -
I'm always hungry, no matter how much i eat. So i find that if im still hungry having a pot of green tea helps cause I'll fill up on the liquid with virtually no calories to worry about. If you dont want the caffeine go for peppermint or herbal tea (just dont add honey or sugar). Usually im not 'hungry' im just craving something sweet, so i can last it out until my next meal.
If you arent eating enough though (not even 1200 cals) then you may actually be hungry and need an extra snack, try some almonds or veggie sticks and cottage cheese.0 -

So are you pregnant?0 -
The reason I ask if you are pregnant is that you would need to take a different approach.
I get quite hungry between meals. I find a small snack will keep me going - previously I would have kept eating until bloated if I was in that kind of mood. Now I tell myself that a small snack is enough and it is with some distractions.
However in pregnancy, the hormones cause changes in blood sugars which gives a real need for food. I suggest you check with your doctor what you should eat to avoid the blood sugar lows.0 -
Have you just started this approach? It WILL take a bit of time for your body to adjust, so some degree of feeling hungry is to be expected.
BUT
Hunger comes in waves, it doesnt just build up and up. So ride the wave. Drink water. Drink herbal teas. Go for a walk or do something to take your mind off it.
Have a look at WHAT you are eating - many people find carbs and suagrs leave them feeling very hungry sooon afterwards. If you set your diary to public we could give more specific advice, but in general switch to eggs for breakfast and ditch the cereal, have protein snacks like cheese or nuts, have soup or a salad instead of a sandwich at lunchtime.
Use the notes section of your diary to record how different foods make you feel.0 -
I agree with a few other posts - up your protein - omlettes for breakfast and perhaps lentil soup for lunch - it really does help.
Look for higher protein snacks such as carrots and hummous.
Good luck!0 -

How many calories are you looking to have a day??
I eat 5 times a day (breakfast, lunch dinner & 2 snacks), the snacks can be half an apple or a glass of milk just to kick my metabolism, because I'm pretty much grazing throughout the day I rarely get hungry (wanting eat because I'm bored at my desk is another matter)
Maybe open your diary for people to see??0 -

Ha Ha!!!!!!!!!!
Pick healthy snacks to graze on
Chopped carrots
Celery
Toms
Nuts
Protein bars
Fruit
Boiled eggs
Slices of ham/chicken
Ryvitas/rice cakes
Dried fruit
Activia yoghurts/greek yoghurts
Protein shakes
Cereal bars
Mini cheese bells - or cheese sticks
Cottage cheese
Are you getting enough protein in your diet??
I graze on the above when I am feeling a little peckish : )0 -
I used to always be hungry too, now I'm training myself to stand longer periods of times between eating - maybe start with one hour 'pauses', and then just make sure to have something healthy and/or low cal available for your next bite. Fruits, and veggies and stuff. And make sure to drink lots! Fills you up for a bit, so you won't be too bothered about havin to wait.
Plan ahead - If you know you'll have breakfast at 7am, and dinner at 7pm, then you have to "plan" 5 pre-lunch snacks, and 5 after lunch snacks, plus ½L to drink before lunch, ½L after (drink with meals too). Make sure to have this number of foods with you.
I found this helped me a lot - In the begginning of my weight loss, I was eating rather healthy and not too calorie dense stuff, but if you eat all the time, it's going to be a lot still! So I started being strict with waiting between foods - I'm at 3 hours now, and having no problem with it0 -

I remember telling my dietician once that I was eating relatively well (she had access to my food diary), but I was still hungry a lot. She told me to increase my fiber intake - so I did. When we met a month later, I had lost 12 pounds. She laughed saying that it was amazing that my fiber had had a sharp rise, the sugars took a big dip (going down low), and obviously it worked since I lost 12 pounds.
What I did was I added chocolate protein bars to the "program". They have about 10g protein, 10g fiber, about 100 calories, and are sugar free/gluten free. I usually have one between breakfast and lunch, and another either between lunch and dinner or after dinner.0 -
Just adding my voice to the posts saying eat more protein and fiber to keep from feeling hungry.0

Increase protein, fiber & water intake. Just how much are you eating on a daily basis? I'm not a clean-eater, but I do know we feel more content on the healthier foods, and not cookies or Wendy's -- all those additives / preservatives / sugars play havoc on our systems.
Are you working out, like busting a good sweat? That helps.
Also, as an avid, yet struggling binger (some days), my mind often tells me I 'feel' hungry when I'm merely going through some kind of emotion...which is complete bs most of the time. I generally try to wait for physical cues to eat...stomach growling = hungry instead of listening to my mind. It's a liar 1/2 the time.
^^^ Right or wrong, that's what I live with and it's controversial whether I have an overeating addiction or what not, but maybe my experiences can help...Idk much about your situation.
Good luck!0 -
I find the best way to deal with hunger is to ensure I eat something regularly (about every 2 hours).
Have breakfasts which slowly release energy. I have just started eating porridge with cinnamon, raisins and honey and I no longer feel the need to snack between breakfast and lunch. Ensure each meal is rich in protein, e.g. chicken, tuna, etc. and keep simple carbs to a minimum, i.e. white bread, white pasta, etc. I find seeded/wholewheat wraps with chicken/tuna and salad are a great lunch. Snack on healthy foods, i.e. fruit, carrot/celery sticks, peanut butter...my favourite is snack organic peanut butter on ryvita. Peanut butter is a great snack in MODERATION - it is high in (good) fat. Be careful what PB you buy - stay away from standard supermarket brands as they are laced in added sugar and salt. Try and get organic PB which you can buy in supermarkets and health food shops, even better would be 100% pure peanut butter (this is my favourite - http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/peanut-butter/10530743.html)
And as others have said, drink plenty of water and green tea.0
