Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

Well... I made a big deal out of how nervous I was about Thanksgiving dinner and all the great food available to temp me into falling off the wagon. I was also freaking out because of the Rec Center I attend was closed for 2 days, so no burning off of excess calories. I, quite frankly, thought this was going to be a "lost" weekend that would take me a week to recover from. I did what exercise I could. The wife and I went on hour long walks which was great because we could do a little reconnecting. I stuck as close to my calorie intake as possible, but went over for 2 days. As soon as the Rec Center was open, I was there working my tail off. Today after church and lunch it was back to the gym. At the end of the workout was the time of reckoning...it was time to pay the piper...it was time to stand on the scale and take my lumps. As I started the process of weighing...I had to take a quick breath and just jump on.........and HOLY CRAP! I LOST a couple more pounds....wait that wasn't supposed to happen. In my mind I was supposed to gain every pound back that I lost. I was supposed to turn into that fat guy again. I was supposed to revert back to my old ways, but I didn't. I MADE IT....I AM NOT A FAILURE...I CAN DO THIS....I CAN LOSE WEIGHT EVEN DURING THE HOLIDAYS. This was just dress rehearsal for Christmas time. This was my mid-term exam and I passed. I know I seem a little over the top about it, but this is an accomplishment for me. I am stoked. I hope those of you that need a little encouragement can look at this and know that you can do it too. If food is the Big Bad Wolf...you don't need to be afraid.

Don't think you over reacted! It's scary to think you might gain back some of the weight you tried so hard to lose. The same goes for anything you've worked for! Who wants to have to redo anything, right!?

Congratulations on your weight loss, and being able to LOSE weight over the holidays! That's quite an accomplishment! Now you should be prepped and ready for any holiday that's coming. :)
