Caloric intake versus Net Calories

I am not sure how to feel.
My total caloric goal to loose 1.5 lbs a week is 1550 according to myfitness pal. However today I consumed 1699 calories worth of food. I exercised today though with a total of 741 calories burnt giving net total of 958 calories consumed.
My question is should I be only consuming food up to 1550 to loose 1.5 lbs per week? Or can I eat more food since I exercised and have my net caloric count to be 1550 so long as I exercise to keep my net count under 1550?
I'm confused and don't know if I should be feeling guilty today that I overconsumed my food calories.
Cheers
