Any tips on foods or drinks to go to when your really dragging, tired, and stressed out? I know there's got to be good foods out there that won't blow calories, but will keep you going ... even if you've only gotten 3 hours of sleep!
I always feel like I "need" caffeine (as in gallons of soda or super sugary coffee) and sugary items (like candy..."hungry? grab a snickers" lol) that will give me a boost, even if its a temporary one that results in a crash later.
I really wish I liked coffee, but I don't unless it is covered in junk (starbucks frappuccino). I'm not even a fan of coffee with creamer & sugar in it![:( :(](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
When I'm crunching deadlines I tend to get less and less sleep, which makes me graze all day (and not on good food), because I'm searching for something to help stay awake, and pretty much force me to keep going when I'm dying.
So any help would be awesome! Thanks :flowerforyou:

I find that dehydration is my #1 problem when I feel tired all the time. I used to drink about 48oz of soda a day and would eat sugary things, similar to your craving them.
However, I have been doing my current program (I just hate to call it a diet, because I don't intend to ever go "off" it) for about 13 weeks. I haven't had soda in over a month - and I mean any soda, not even on "cheat days" - and I've never felt more awake and alert consistently as I have these past few weeks.
Anything with alot of caffeine constricts blood vessels and dehydrates you. You may want to try laying off the caffeine and making sure you get enough water every day. You might be surprised by how big of a difference it can make.
If you still want something sugary, try a fiber bar. Fiber One Oats & Peanut Butter bars taste very sweet, like a candy bar, but only have 8 or 9 grams of sugar.0 -
If you really need a boost quickly, you could try 5-hour Energy. 1/2 the bottle usually gets a quick pick up. There's a total of 4 calories. The entire bottle is like 2 cups of coffee without the calories. I only use it when I am desperate. It doesn't seem to have the same effect on my system other stimulants would have. I've found the lemon or lime ones are disgusting. None of them taste good, but they are small enough to do a shot and are swallowed quickly. Just don't use them too often as caffeine is not great for you. Also, make sure you drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration as you would get from any caffeinated product.0
