The timing of meals doesn't really matter unless eating close to bedtime messes up your sleep.0

Meal timing is largely irrelevant, especially when you are eating at a deficit.
Throughout my weight loss, I ate whenever it suited me, sometimes having dinner at 9:00 or later, especially after going to the gym after work.
Basically, your body is always shuffling calories around . storing some when you don't need them, using the stored ones when you need some and don't have any food readily available. If you are eating at a deficit, your net result would be weight loss.
Of course, if eating late causes you to have poor sleep, or if you have issues like acid reflux, then you need to do what works for you. In my case, eating late does not affect my sleep.
ETA: In fact, it's 9:00 PM here and I had a snack while writing this :bigsmile:0 -
I just read this week about food myths and it said late snack eating turns to fat is a myth. It said that it might even help for your body to maintain an even calorie burn. But that is why we are here. You can monitor if you still have your quota to fill. I just started here 4weeks ago and have a snack every night from 8 to 10 depending if I ate dinner 4pm or 6pm, and I have consistently lost 2 to 3 lbs per week. I still have my food diary OK and I exercise an my snack is either dry air popcorn, with nutritional yeast ( cheesy flavor ) and my popcorn is just dry kernels in an ordinary brown lunch bag in the microwave no fat. ( Microwave packaged popcorn is so not needed with strange additives). Or I snack on a smoothy or fruity home made frozen yogurt. Nothing fatty unless it is my own peanut butter I make out of dry roasted peanuts and it is not oily. There is no separation of oil.0

i use to meal at night and that was probably the worst thing for me when i didnt care about losing weight, but i still kinda have the inclination to eat before bed, so what i've been doing is having a salad or popcorn(without salt and butter) to curb my appetite. helps alot!0

Your body cannot tell time.0

I am a diabetic and therefore cannot NOT eat past 8pm I have to try to keep my calories evenly spaced, so no, what time you eat is not going to stop your wt. loss.0

HOGWASH! I busted that myth. It's overall calories that matter, not when you eat them.0
