HELP!!!!!! I am really bad at planning out HEALTHY meals. I want to lose weight. I have to. I need some Ideas for daily meals( Breakfast through Dinner) that i can purchase and package up for the week. I don't have a lot of money to spend, so the more frugal the better.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions. p.s. i detest onions, mushrooms, avocado, peppers of any kind, tomatoes, melons (except watermelon), papaya, kiwi, raw berries by themselves. If I think of anything else, I'll add it.

Thanks again!

  • A pot of soup, made on the weekend that you can eat from all week. It gets better and you can always add another veggie, or potato if it gets too thin. Any kind you like. My Mother always made a weight watcher version, 2 cans of green beans with liquid, 2 carrots, diced, 2 cans of diced tomato, sweet potato, a can of corn, potatoes, a can of V8 juice, any veggie that you like, canned or fresh. Season with DRY RANCH DRESSING from a foil envelope
A pot of brown rice, steam it to use with stir fry. A pot of beans, they get better after a couple of days.
Having soup before your meals will help you feel full and help you cut down on the bad foods that we all want.
Homemade hummus, served with cut veggies. I love it on sliced cucumbers. Bake up a few potatoes and sweet potatoes.
You say you detest this and that, well we all hate something, but if it is good for you, you can learn to at least tolerate it. All in what you get used to.
I follow this saying that has hung on my cabinet for years and maybe it will help you. Don't remember where I got it, over 10 years ago. I read it everyday.

My love of food sent me on a quest to discover new foods that were good for me. It became an adventure, a hobby, no a denial thing…
Don't limit yourself, you should try something at least 3 times. Start with just a bit of it, add a bit more and before you know it, you are eating like grownup. There will always be things you don't like, try them different ways and you may find the perfect food, cooked the perfect way for you.
Having a few things already cooked and waiting for you to heat up will help you with your meal plan and help you to eat better. Nothing like coming home after a long day and having to cook brown rice which takes 40 minutes. You can eat a lot of bad stuff waiting for it to cook. Trust me. I don't even have a microwave and I have these things and others, waiting for me.
Soak your own beans overnight before cooking, how cheap is that? There are at least 10 different types of rice at most grocery stores, each different in taste and texture. Rice with cinnamon and raisins make a great breakfast, oatmeal can be made in a slow cooker , or a thermos overnight.
With just a bit of prep work, you can have a weeks worth of meals in just a few hours of cooking. Dinner today, supper tomorrow. Breakfast for supper? You bet. If you chop/slice up your veggies, then just a handful of this or that will make several meals with all the same veggies. A lot of food for not a lot of money.
  • There is a free app called Food On The Table that has everything you need for meal planning. Recipes, lists, etc. its great and I use it every week!

Make any meal and have a left over omelette the next day. I do that a lot. Any left over veggies or scraps of meat I put in a two egg omelette for me and my boyfriend. Cheap and easy and not too many calories

Oh and here are some more:

This doesn't take long and doesn't cost much. You can swap veggies you don't like for ones you do. Add bacon or some kind of fancy bacon to make it feel like more of a meal.

Oh and this is a great side to some kind of low cal meat. Chicken breast or tuna steak.

you just click on the items you have in your fridge/pantry and it spits out a list of recipes.

On the offhand turkey burgers are a great meal because you can easily change up the taste from dinner to lunch. Also shrimp, I buy a big frozen bag and defrost about 8 at a time to eat that night, salt, pepper garlic & lime juice. Delicious

I would suggest friending a few people here on mfp and watching their diaries. It always gives me good meal ideas!

Feel free to add me, but I eat a lot of the things you don't like, daily.
