Finding the calorie counting very strict

Since childhood I have been pissed off as "MAJIMBOO " (if you know Dragon Ball Z)

I found this site, and I was really motivated to have discipline in my eating habits.

BUT, I find it very difficult to follow :( There are times that I feel so hungry :(

I know its been just two days since I started.. But, I just want to know.. Any tips how to get going? How to keep myself feeling "full" but having minimal foods to eat?

I REALLY WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT AND SHOW TO THEM THAT I CAN BE A BETTER PERSON.
HELP :(

Eating more protein helps keep me from getting hungry. You can try eating more than three times a day too. I eat twice a day and I'm seldom hungry.

what are your daily calories set at? As a 19 year old man with 30lbs to lose (depending on your activity) you could be eating more food.

If you are under 1800 calories you aren't eating enough...

as well open your diary so we can give better advice.

well to start with you got to space out your meals and snacks evenly throughout the day so that you are aiming at eating every three hours or so. Up your fiber and protein choices, limit simple carbs because they just turn into sugar and make you hungry faster. Rehttp://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/nutrition/carbs/simple-vs-complex-carbohydrates.htmlad this: it has great info on simple and complex carbohydrates. What you do want is your plant based complex carbs like apples and vegies.. they take longer for you to digest and keep you full longer. Drink lots of water, if you have to get it down add lemon/lime or crystal light. Make sure you eat all your allotted caloreis for the day. Don't starve yourself. Start exercising right away, you can eat more this way. No matter what, stick with it and keep trying new food choices and recipes. Try tweaking your personal family recipes to be lower in calories. My food diary is open if you want to check it out. Just know that I don't always eat right either but I always keep trying. That is the key to this: never give up.

What I do is look at the goal weight I want, estimate what my activity level will be in order to maintain that weight (so I use sedentary activity as a worst case scenario) and eat that way. If for example, you say you want your goal weight to be 160 pounds, do a calculation of how many calories you'd need to eat to maintain that weight at an activity level you know is sustainable. You don't have to eat that way right away, but gradually work down to it. I find incremental change is easier to handle than full out overhaul when it comes to my weight and eating.

Space out your meals and snacks. Eat a lot of small healthy meals or snacks throughout the day, like every two hours or so. A lot of water, veggies, protein and healthy fats. Key is to learn to recognize and know the difference between true hunger signals vs. cravings because you're restricting.

Mostly what I got out of the food log is to find what foods I like that will make me feel full without adding a ton of calories. For me, that food is popcorn. My grandfather grows popcorn, so I have fresh delicious plain popcorn. I can eat tons of it with very few calories and it fills me up. Just find something like that for you to eat as a snack when you feel hungry.

Bad news for ya, bro - for some of us, if you are losing weight you are going to be hungry. Some people can mitigate this by upping protein intake in the diet but for many people when your body fat falls your leptin levels fall and your metabolism will fall. For those this happens to this will happen no matter how many calories you are eating, assuming you are on a deficit, of course. It's the loss of fat mass, not the caloric intake, that causes the leptin to fall and all the subsequent symptoms, such as feeling cold and hungry.

For me there is no such thing as eating a calorie deficit and not being hungry. I can feel the physiological changes within 2 days of deficit. It all boils down to how tough you are and how long you can stick it out.

Recalculate your settings to lose 0.5 or 1 lb per week.

    Eat up to your goal.

If/when you workout, log your exercise and eat back the exercise cals.

Try eating more protein for satiety and to aid muscle preservation.

ETA: losing weight will not make you a better person. Healthier maybe, more confident, maybe, but don't get into the mindset that you will suddenly be happy and like a new person once you've shed those pounds.
