Not new...but new to being a mom!

Hi everyone! I totally loved MFP when I lost weight in 2012 and beginning 2013...in fact I THINK losing weight helped me get pregnant (I have PCOS). I just had my first baby (girl!) 12/31. I have nine pounds of pregnancy weight left, plus another 15 I would love to lose. I have always felt the best in the 130s (I am 5'5").

Anyway, I am looking for other new or newish moms. I really want to hear how people manage breastfeeding and losing weight because I am so hungry I DREAM of food now!

What kind of exercise do you fit in at home?

I have very little help so any exercise I do will have to be in my home. I am thinking some strength training, yoga, and maybe Zumba. I have no idea how to fit it in either...my little girl wants to be be held ALL THE TIME!!! She even sleeps on me half the time.

Hey! Feel free to add me. :) New mommy here to an adorable 5 month old boy! I am no longer breastfeeding but I know how hard it is to fit in the exercise with a needy baby! I'm operating on the notion that it took 9 months for us to grow our babies, so give it 9 months to take off the weight! It will come off eventually, I promise! :-)

    Hooray for babies!

My youngest son is 5 months old and he is absolutely amazing. I did squats the other night before bed and held him against my chest. I have no idea if he enjoyed it at all but he was fine just munching on his hand.

I was a new parent 8 years ago and have 3 kids total. I can't imagine you have escaped it yet, but if you have then beware the onslaught of advice and parenting tips. You are going to have to get good at filtering out the BS and just using what works. Don't stress, just do what you can do and don't be afraid to ask for help. Feel free to friend me if you like and best of luck on your goals!

I'm an old mom.. lol...my youngest "baby" is just about to turn 9. :) Congratulations on the birth of your new daughter!!!

Take your time with the baby weight, especially if you're breastfeeding. Listen to your body and EAT, mama. I b-fed all of four of my babes and the weight fell off gradually but steadily during the first 6 months as long as I drank plenty of water, ate good food, and *moderately* exercised. When the weather is nice, put your little one in a stroller or strap her into a carrier and take a walk. Get some fitness dvds from the library and try them out if you'd like.

SLEEEEEEEP. I know you won't, but I'm going to say it anyway. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Did I mention sleep? You will probably do more for losing the baby weight to take a nap when you can then to do an exercise dvd. Really, it's true!!

Do not under any circumstances starve yourself. Your milk supply will suffer, your mood will suffer, and everything will suck. Eat well. Avoid junk food (a little is okay though, don't be neurotic), but treat yourself to luscious, nutritious, yummy food. Listen to your hunger signals and HONOR them. Your body is no dummy, it will tell you what you need.

Did I mention sleep? Really, sleep.
