I am a 18 year old female. I lost 20+ lbs by lots of cardio but now my body is untoned. I am 5'6 and weigh about 150. I would love to lose another 20-30 lbs. So I started researching a lot and came across macros. is a 40% protein/30%carb/30%fat ratio good for me? My calorie goal is around 1200-1380. I go to the gym everyday. i do cardio everyday for 30 minutes and lift/weight train for 30-45 minutes. Is this a good plan? Thanks

I am 5' 6'' and 147 lbs. I am doing 30p/30f/40c right now and for 1300 calories that comes to 43g fat 130g carbs and 98g protein. It's working really well for me because it pushes me to eat more protein. I usually end up a little shy on that goal and over on carbs/fat but I'm working at it.
My goal weight is 135 but at this point I am working on losing fat and gaining muscle so I would be okay if I didn't hit that number because I'm focusing more on measurements (I'm 36-28-38 right now)
SO I think your goals are good but I would consider 30% protein before you switch to 40% unless you are already comfortable eating a lot of protein. Also, feel free to add me if you want since our goals are so similar.0 -

My cousin is a trainer for elite athletes and a nutritionist and she told me to eat 1330 cals a day and that my ratios should be 45% carb, 35% protein, and 20% fat. Cutting the fat helps with fat loss, I guess. It's called a "cut" macro plan. I am 5'7
Having said that, I've been keeping within my calorie limit but it's hard to get the ratios right for the marcros. I have to up my protein without adding fat....that is the trick.
Wish I could find someone who had set meal plans with those ratios so I could just follow it without thinking too hard about it!0 -
lula: I follow a 50P/30C/20F if you would like to add me as a friend to view my diary for ideas0

Just for the record, im sure your body is far more "toned" than it was before the training0
