Is it ok to eat 2 big meals a day?

I eat about 1000 calories for breakfast and I don't eat anything until dinner (which consists of 500 calories). Is this bad?

Of course it's not bad. As long as you don't find yourself hungry or angry and snack on things you didn't plan to eat.

Edit to add: I do this sometimes on a Sunday if I make a big breakfast. But typically I don't personally find this kind of eating sustainable. I get light-headed and cranky if I don't eat something every two hours or so.

People do it all the time, and it's fine.

It's perfectly fine. Meal timing doesn't play as a huge a role in weight loss as calories in vs. calories out does.

Just be careful to monitor the way you feel throughout the day. For example, if you get a headache in the middle of the day, try eating something to see if that makes it go away. Personally I think it would be a good idea to have a snack consisting of fruits and/or vegetables in the middle of the day. They don't make you fat and it will help keep your blood sugar at a good level (plus they are good for you!).

Also, make sure to drink plenty of fluids. A lot of people only drink when they eat so you may be at risk for dehydration if you are one of these people.

It's ok and if that works for you then it's fine. I seem to lose more weight when I eat more frequently through out the day even if the calorie in take is the same. Can't explain why but do what works for you.

It's perfectly fine, but doesn't work for everyone. Some people have health issues that require them to eat more frequently or else they become prone to experiencing dizzy spells or lightheadedness.

Additionally, there is a myth (may or may not be true, but I personally err on the side of caution here) that the human body can only absorb a certain amount of protein at a given time, so if your nutritional needs require meeting a high protein goal, it may be better to space your meals out more in order to meet your protein goal (IF you believe this, and that is a big IF).
