Am I allocated enough calories?
5 "3
12st 13
Sedentary (desk job)
Try and work out at least 3 days week for 30 mins +
Looking to lose 1lb a week steadily
MFP gave me 1420 and I eat back exercise calories
Desperate to lose weight and want to do do it properly
Also I have a polar HRM watch to make sure I'm pretty accurate in my calories
Thought I would put this out there as there are seasoned users on here who's advice I could use
Thanks I advance

seems fine but you will only know after two-three weeks minimum of following the approach.0

Ok thanks Mike, I'm keeping it up, also quit smoking 40 days ago so I'm hoping this won't hinder anything either!0

I find if I leave a few hundred calories on the table each day I have more success. It's trial and error.0

No worries, let me know if you have any other questions.
Major congrats on quitting, if it does have any effects which are rare, its worth the hinderance
Cheers, Mike.0 -
Sound like you got a good plan going. However, with me and I am not saying this will happen to you BUT it didnt really work. Recently I have learnt or relearned some practise that has actually helped me over the last few weeks.
1) Eat small meals during the day - 300 cal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 100 cal for morning and afternoon tea, and another 100 cal for dessert. (I freeze some low fat yoghurt and have that for dessert) This makes the body think that food is aplenty and there is no need to starve
2) Look at the settings on MFP. The protein requirement is super low. I upped the protein. ( There is a lot of great forums and sites that give good advise on this)
3) Make sure you weigh all your foods. What I thought was a proper serving was actually 3 servings.
4) record your drinks - I have heard that some people can drink there calories plus eat them. and
5) Pick one day a week when you can have one treat a week. This way you dont feel deprived and you are less likely to binge eat when that feeling strikes. You will know the one when it happens.0 -
Thank you guys, at least I know I'm on a good track, just some confirmation put my mind at ease0
