i weighed myself this morning and my weight had dropped half a lb since two days ago(yay!) but my body fat has gone up!?! my water content was the same so...how is it possible to lower my weight yet gain body fat???

    Dont go by those scales that have all those bells and whisles.They are classicly 30% off with body fat.
  • What are you using to measure body fat percentage(I assume you used this to tell you what your body fat was)? This scales you stand on are not 100% accurate.

    i just used the weight watchers scales that measure weight, bmi, body fat and water mass. i know i should probably use something more accurate but i don't have access to anything else

    Don't use those scales! Ignore the features.. there is no way they can be accurate for everyone and their limited accuracy degrades over time. Waste of money.

    Those home measurers will vary several percentage points even through the course of a day. I wouldn't worry about it.

    I believe the only real way to measure body fat is by water displacement although they may have some more high tech ways now.

    If you are losing weight and inches, if you are eating better and exercising, then you are getting healthier. Don't let day to day numbers throw you.
