Hi All:
I finally decided to lose my weight, well I have decided to lose it many, MANY times before but that usually lasts a week, and when I find I didn't lost 5 kg in the first week I got annoyed and have up.
I figured I would try to lose as much as I can by when I turn 50, which is Christmas Eve this year.
I started at 119.6 kg on Jan 4 and want to lose 30-40 kg by 50. It would be cool to say I lost 50 by 50 but that may be over hoping.
I didn't even weigh myself for the first 5 weeks, I wanted to see how accurate that `If every day was like today...' spiel, I didn't think it would be all that accurate so I wasn't disappointed.
I think it said I would weigh 113.6 at the end of 5 weeks and I came in at 115.1 which was a loss of 4.5 kg or 10 lbs (OK 9.92 but I call it 10!).
That to me seems a healthy weight loss!
They say a habit takes 3 weeks to break (well I'm sure someone said that); before I would walk down the chocolate aisle and pick up about 10 of the chocolate bars on special that week. Now I walk by and go `meh'. Sure I would love to pig out on chocolate but I don't feel the craving. Nor for Ice Cream etc.
My only pig out is Domino's (I'm not very sophisticated, I like Domino's pizza!!!) - since I have to get it delivered I basically have to order 2 pizzas (I could get 3 for basically the same price, but I only want 2).
Then I have 2 days of pigginess and eat both of them and I'm good for another 2 weeks.
The week I have my pigout I work out the calories and cut back the other 5 days so when it averages out it's on mu calorie limit.
My only problem is I am going away for a long weekend with a friend and then am going to see relatives for a week all within the next 2-3 weeks. I KNOW I am going to eat stuff I shouldn't when I am away, so I don't know if I should try to really undereat for the 4 days prior so I have calories available or just keep to my usual regime and just do the best I can and know that I'll be catching up for a few weeks?
Anyway, that's me - if anyone wants to be friends, that's cool too!

Hi from Queensland! Had to say hello since I use to go to the Country music festival there every year till I had kids. Born and raised in Newcastle. Lots of good memories of dancing with cowboys lol and staying up till almost sunrise, sleeping till it got to hot and back out to party on again.
Hmm.. If I were you I'd maybe just eat a little bit less calories and add in a bit of extra exercise before you go away. If you starve yourself you'll be more likely to eat worse. Add tons more veggies/salads to your meals so you're not hungry as the fibre and a big plate of food will keep you satisfied. Have a lean protein with it of course. You can friend me if you like0 -
Howdy neighbour, I'm down the road from you in deepest, darkest Quirindi.
The problem with undereating before you go away is that this may make you overeat while you are away.... Maybe just try and moderate a bit while you're visiting etc and then just get back on track when you return.
Good luck.0 -
Hi Mockchoc and Mungowungo:
I agree with what you say actually, rather than starve myself and then be famished when I go away and shove everything in my gullet, just eat properly or a little less before and basically get on track when I get back.
I don't plan on pigging out completely, but well who knows !
