New? Well kinda! Looking for a Support System.

Hi there. I'm Krys. I'm new (kinda). I downloaded the app last summer & lost 25lbs in a few months. I didn't realize that there were message boards.
Anyway, I don't have a very strong support system. Maybe it is my fault because I have failed at this so many times. Not just MFP, but all diets. It's not that I don't do well on the different diets. I lost weight on WW, and when I was in highschool I lost 60lbs on Atkins. But, no matter how strong I start off I lose momentum & gain back all weight lost & then some.
Last year after a doctors appointment weigh in, I felt horrible. The scale was not my friend, I weighed 298lbs. I quickly changed my eating habits & dropped my weight down to 265lbs. I was so proud of myself. I even started exercising.
Then, a whole list of excuses hit the fan. At the very end of August my fiancé broke his clavicle & was out on WorkersComp for three months. A whole lot of sitting around doing nothing but eating & watching Netflix. He returned back to work in November. Hello Holidays! Can you say Christmas Cookies? (I LOVE to cook!) Then, the week before Christmas I broke my toe. Which is still giving me issues today.
My six month checkup was this week. Once again, the scale was my enemy. 299lbs. All that work, & now I am one pound heavier! Oh my god! I'm devastated.
Anyway, today was my first day counting calories in about five months. I did pretty good. I was under MFP calorie target & I even shoveled snow today. I have a stationary exercise bike & I have a treadmill on hold (waiting for all this darn snow to melt). I want this. I need this. I have PCOS & there is no cure, but weight management helps curb the side effects.
The problem? I can't seem to do it alone. Maybe I need someone to encourage me to keep me going, or maybe someone to help me be accountable. I don't know, but its worth a shot.
I'm so sorry this is so long... But, I felt the need to put the words down.
Thanks for reading.

I have also started and stopped many times before. The key for this, my first real success at weight loss, was starting out slow. In the past I had gone all out, only to burn out after a few weeks. This time I started by making small, sustainable changes and have been able to maintain a slow but steady loss for 10 months now. The success stories here have also been a huge motivation for me. Good luck! You've got this!0

Thanks so much. Discovering the Message Boards just might be my saving grace. I've already bookmarked a few success threads. Amazing to see how well people are doing.
You look fantastic!0 -
Hey there! I can totally relate to feeling like you have to start over. Last winter I was my heaviest weight ever. I've last weight once before but over time I had gained it all back. Having a support system absolutely makes a difference! I know I've stopped and started plenty of times. It matters that you want to give it a shot again. The path to success generally isn't a straight line. Feel free to add me! I try to log honestly and I sign on daily.0
