any Insanity results for smaller women???

Hi All! I am starting this post for all those who are or have completed insanity. This is my second round of insanity and during my first round I saw great results. I was just curious if those who have started insanity and were already small, (Im 123 pounds) did you see any weight loss? If so, what was your diet regimen and how intensely did you workout out during each DVD?

I had lost about 20 pounds in the past 2 years and have suddenly gained about 8-10 of those pounds back. It came fast and out of no where. So I am hoping I can at least get to 115 at the end of insanity.

I am also on my second round of insanity now. I started back in late November and finished late January. My beginning weight was 128 and afterwards I got down to 114. Now with insanity my weight fluctuates between 110-112, but i'm definitely more toned in my stomach and shoulder areas. I also work harder with Insanity now because i'm in better shape and familiar with the moves. I'm eager to see the progress after the month two!

wow that is awesome! were you 128 beginning round 1 or round 2?? I cant believe you lost 14 pounds! I lost about 4 pounds, completing most of insanity until the last 2 weeks due to medical reasons, I could not complete the last 2 weeks :(. So I am trying to lose these 8-10 pounds that I gained outta no where! ahh! What was your diet like during insanity? I eat very healthy, trying to stay away from carbs like bread and any kind of sugar! I just want to get back to how I was less than 6 months ago!

You look awesome. I am currently on month 1, week 2, day 3 of insanity and it not easier the second time around. When did you really start to see results during insanity??

I was 128 at the start of round one, but I really started to see results in month 2. I chose the 1200 calorie diet when I was on round one. I just made healthier choices, and lots of protein shakes/bars. I don't necessarily suggest this, but it worked for me. I paid more attention to calories and continued to eat an insane amount of carbs--i love them! I'm also on month 1, week 2, day 3 of insanity. :)

Thats awesome!. I just hope to lose weight! I know everyone says dont look at the scale while doing insanity, but you know how much it sucks to gain weight that you had lost! Big time! I am definitely sore after todays workout, I just cannot wait to finish and see results!
  • I am 5'7" and I weigh about 140. I eat very well and am in pretty decent shape. I just finished week three of Insanity! I lost six inches in total so far (1 from chest, 3 from waist, 1 from hip, and almost 1 from each thigh) BUT I am so cnfused on calories! I used to eat only 1200-1300 calories a day but now I eat about 1600. Is this too much?! Myfitnesspal says I shouldn't eat over 1200. I don't want to gain weight! I do not need to lose much weight, about 5 pounds but would love to be toned. What have people experienced in terms of calories and how much to eat? The Nutrition guide said I should eat 1740 calories which seems like a TON!

Also, I do not own a scale so I have no idea if I am losing numbers but definitely have inches coming off!
  • Not doing insanity but just wanted you girls to know that the more muscle you gain the heavier you will be, although smaller in size - muscle is heavier than fat. Instead of watching the numbers on the scales keep and eye on your belt holes and you won´t be far off reaching your goals. Good luck to all xxxx

Yes, I know that muscle weighs more than fat. But I prefer the skinny look. I have gained muscle from working out, especially in the thigh area and I would like to get them smaller. And plus, i like seeing a smaller number on the scale, it keeps my mind at ease! :) Thanks for the advice!

Well with insanity, because you are burning so much you will need to eat the calories that you are burning in order to lose weight. I recently gained 8 lbs (came outta no where ahhh) and I can not only see it on the scale but the way my clothes are fitting so I would like to lose the weight I have gained. As for me, since I am trying to lose weight, I am trying to stay away from carbs, especially bread and any kind of sugar like pop or candy! Those are a no no for me! I get my carbs from fruit, I eat alot of fruit, but I try to keep my fruit intake in the morning hours only. I know everyone says pounds dont matter, as long as inches are coming off. But I hope I lose pounds and inches! lol I just want my clothes to feel a tiny bit looser then they are now!

I eat about 1200 calories a day, my goal is to lose weight but inches is awesome too! Keep going, we can keep eachother motivated!

I will be finishing week 2 of month 1 tomorrow and I hope to see results like you. This is my second round of insanity, the first round I was 2 weeks shy from completing but I still saw amazing results, so I am hoping this time is the same!

Good luck and feel free to message me anytime!
  • You will see results!!! I have definitely seen an improvement in my abs and legs. My legs were getting kind of lumpy and they are starting to look like they did on my honeymoon 8 months ago! I eat only Ezekiel bread and 60 calorie tumaros wraps for bread but don't be scared of carbs! We need them to get through those insane workouts. Did you take your before pics and measurements? That's the best way to see results. My husband threw out my scale because I was getting obsessed and it does more harm than good. I love seeing inches lost! I hope I thin out my legs and thighs more. Let me know how it goes for you. 1200 calories seems like not very much. How tall are you?
  • Also, eating the five or more times a day has seriously increased my metabolism. I feel like I burn through the food! I'm always hungry and I eat 1400-1500 calories a day.

Im 5'3" and a 1/2. I weigh about 123 pounds. In the summer I was at 115 and ive gained weight. Im also targeting my hips and thighs. I have gained inches in both those areas, I believe from going to the gym and using the machines with weights.. so my pants are tighter on my especially the hip area so im hoping with insanity I will lose inches all around.

that's actually not what that poster was talking about.

when your muscles are sore, you are retaining water. obviously water retention will have an effect on your scale weight.

as long as you are getting smaller you are on the right path, sometimes it takes a few days of no exercise (to clear out any water retention) to see scale differences

I am starting Insanity today! I'll keep posted about my results. I am 5'3" and 115 lbs. I really am just trying to tone up before the summer hits. I am concerned about gaining too much muscle because I don't really prefer that look so we'll see how it turns out. I'll try and post pics soon.

Feel free to look at my before and semi after photos. The first two were results from jillians Body Revolution and the last photo is after insanity. I didn't eat my healthiest during this program since it was the months of November and December haha but the program sure helped me not gain that holiday weight! I am going back to it after I finish my current program in a month. I am 4'11 by the way

Are you eating 1600 calories net or is that without eating back your exercise calories? I am 5'5" and 140 lbs and need to lose about 10 lbs. I'm on day 3 of week 3 month 1 and not seeing any difference, though my diet could be better I guess. I eat emerald very well and then slip up in the evening. Starting tomorrow I am going totally green and unprocessed. Not looking forward to it but my holiday is the beginning of May so not a lot of choice here!

If you're only eating 1200 calories that could be part of the reason you are not losing weight. The guide suggests more calories for you because that's what you need to do Insanity. If you're not eating enough calories your body will go into starvation mode and not lose the weight. I've read of several other posters who were having the same problem and they upped their calorie intake and the weight started coming off. I'm also on 1200 calories but I eat my exercise calories so on average I eat about 1600 calories a day, I just completed day 10 of Insanity and have lost about 4 pounds (but am in the process of losing baby weight so I definitely have the fat to burn, lol). I would try upping your calories for a week and see if it makes a difference, I know that's scary because you don't want to gain weight, but if you're pushing yourself in Insanity I have no doubt that your body and mucles will put that food to good use!! Good luck!
