I consume 15-30 grams of fiber a day---average is about 25, which is more than a lot of people. I drink water like craziness. WHY do I NOT go to the restroom? It's been 2 weeks!!! Today I decided to take some correctol. Any tips? I hate to talk about POO but......... Just wondering if anyone else had these issues.

2 Weeks without a BM?! Thats way to long.. You really need to see a Dr. you could have impacted stool..
Good luck0 -
Are you getting enough fat in your diet? Fat lubricates and helps things move along, which is one of many benefits of dietary fat. just make sure it is healthy fats.0

FAT check. I eat tons of meats.
2 weeks is normal for me. I've done it my whole life and everytime I talk to a doc about it they say to take a stool softener or that some people just dont go everyday.. . . . . . . .
I drink coffee everymorning like a religion. AND I take benefiber as well.0 -
I used to be like that and get that way now sometimes. Probiotics really help me out, either via yogurt or just the capsules.0

Hey girl, my constipation issues are more related to celiac, but I take a laxative serving every morning to keep me regular as well as making sure I have enough fiber in my daily diet. Most of the time I have a BM everyday. Of course there are those off days, but this has helped me for a few months now. Good luck!!0

I think the average recommendation isn't right for everyone. I have been eating like 100g of fiber each day and all that has led to is one daily movement. Most of the intentional fiber comes from fiber 1 cereal. I also eat tons of fruits and veg (skin on) each day. Still only one movement.
I guess everyone is different, but if you're like me, have a few extra bowls of fiber 1

This is going to sound wierd but I've noticed you quit smoking (congrats btw) I"m a smoker and I've tried several times to quit (I will get there one day) and I've noticed everytime I stop smoking for a day or two I get um backed up. Then I would smoke (not to use the bathroom but it seemed to make me go). Not saying to smoke again, but maybe your body is just adjusting to a healthier you.0

exercise enhances GI motility. Hot liquids also. prune juice also. combine the three and you should see results. I think a second opinion is in order. 2 wks is extreme. See a gastroenterologist soonest.0

I have IBS and my doctor has me take Miralax (which is similar to Benefiber)...I usually buy the store brand because it' not real cheap. It helps...I notice a big difference when I don't take it. Coffee usually makes me "go" if I drink it first thing in the a.m. Also, if I'm REALLY "backed up"...I'll drink a cup of herbal tea....I like Yogi "Smooth Move" I think it's called, or "Get Regular". If you do drink it, and have never drank it before, start with 1/2 cup and drink it at night. If you drink a whole cup and aren't used to it, it will give you cramps.0

This doesn't sound weird AT ALL!!!!! Sometimes I would smoke to help me go to the BR. Like it relaxes you enough to go or something..........0 -

I have this super dieters tea that has Senna in it.............. Do you think that's ok? What do the others have in them?0 -
Is it the Laci LeBeau Super Dieter's Tea? I think they all probably have Senna in them....I'm not home so I'm not sure what the Yogi Tea has in it....I do know that the Laci LeBeau teas made me cramp more.0

Magnesiumcitrate! This always works for me! I typically mix half a bottle with some gatorade. It usually only takes 30 minutes or so to work on me but it can take up to 4-6 hrs.0

I have noticed that when I cleaned up my food intake (reduced chemicals and processed foods) that my BM's got farther apart. I am eatting a higher amount of fiber, have healthy fats daily, drink coffee every morning, and will still only have a BM every 3-5 days. Before cleaning up my foods I was going every day or two. I will occasionally use Milk of Magnesia if I think I am overly backed up. My boyfriend complains of being backed up if he doesn't go 3 times a day! Everyone is different.0

Probiotics help me also, Yogurt sometimes bothers my gut, so I bought the supplements and saw a ginormous improvement.0
