Flat Feet Pain

Hiya! I'm new to the gym - this is only my third week, but I've had this problem for as long as I can remember when I wear trainers. I am overweight (5'5" and 270), and know that I have flat feet. I recently purchased new Asics Gel Kayano and insoles for added support, but I still find that when I walk (treadmill or outside) the low arches of my feet ache really bad. A kind of pain that makes me stop when I on the treadmill and take constant breaks when I'm walking. When I do a machine like the elliptical it's not as bad, though sometimes the outside of my feet will start to ache because I think I'm rolling my feet out to avoid it.
My goal is to lose over 100 pounds so I need to be able to do lots of cardio, but it's very frustrating! Has anyone else ever has this problem? Suggestions on shoes or insoles that can help it? Or exercises that are still high calorie burning but have less pressure on the feet (besides the obvious swimming option)?
Help!

I used to get horrible pain in my arches but then found some inserts that target arches, cheapo Dr Scholls kind from WalMart and they have made all the difference.0

Were they gel or more firm? I'll look for them!0

They are a lighter purple color and the heel is soft but not a gel the arch is raised and its not as long as my entire shoe. Sorry, the exact style and brand has rubbed off. But I did get them at WalMart in the foot support section.0

I'm going to say I have no idea what I'm talking about.0

Best to see a podiatrist for a custom orthotic. I have adult acquired flatfoot secondary to a tendon issue... and I dealt with severe plantar fasciitis from walking in inappropriate footwear/OTC orthotics. My prescription orthotic saves me 50% of the pain that I used to have but I bike instead of walk for exercise when possible.0

Not a shoe expert by any means, but why Kayanos? I'm pretty sure they are for people with arches. Did you get fitted for these? You can probably save a trip to the doctor and paying for orthotics by getting a fitting for shoes for flat feet.0
