Major Milestone

After feeling like my weight loss had stalled for the past six weeks so, I weighed in this morning with a 2 lb loss over last week, which has me at a BMI below 130 for the first time in at least a decade, and probably longer. According to the charts (U.S. and WHO), that make me merely overweight, and no longer obese! Honestly, when I started on MFP last August, reaching this point seemed very unlikely to me. I was initially just shooting for that 10% reduction in body weight that is frequently cited as having significant health benefits for those who are overweight and obese.
Oddly, two people I don't even know that well remarked on my weight loss during the six-week stall. I guess maybe they hadn't seen me for a couple of months so it made a more marked contrast for them, but it was nice to hear that the difference is noticeable. Not that the way I look is why I'm doing this, but any kind of validation or motivation helps when it gets hard to see progress. I guess I was spoiled during my first four months on MFP, when I never went more than two weeks without a loss, and was averaging a two-pound loss a week.
Recent NSVs
I still marvel at how much easier it is to bend, crouch, stoop, squat, etc., and get back up. Instead of using my toe to toggle the switch on electric strips, I'm much more likely just to squat down and do it with my hand.
Shoveling snow during this most recent storm seems easier.
Pretty much all of my clothes are looser, even underwear. I keep putting off buying new stuff so I won't have to do it too many times, but I guess I'm about half-way to goal, so maybe I should start buying a few things.
I put in a Pilates DVD yesterday, which I hadn't done in a while, and it didn't seem impossibly challenging. Most of the time I could do the exercises without making the suggested adjustments for those who can't do the standard version yet.
Still a long way to go, but it's nice to have movement on the scale, unsolicited third-party feedback, and NSVs to keep me from getting discouraged.
Best of luck to everybody else on MFP in making progress toward your goals.
