Tips for a college student?

Hi there! I've been logging my food for a few days now and seem to be under my calorie limit every day so far. I haven't been cutting back very much but I have been choosing more healthy options than before. The thing is I am a college sophomore, it's almost time for finals, and it's rough! A lot of my diet consists of Chinese delivery (four times in two weeks) and food from the dining hall (which is at least fairly good - no processed foods at my school). The only kitchen appliance I have access to is a microwave. Plus, I don't have a lot of time or motivation for extra exercise other than my daily walking around campus and working at one or two basketball games a week (where I run/briskly walk around for two hours).

Anyway, does anyone have any tips or helpful hints on how to be successful as a college student who needs to lose about 50 pounds?

Hello! I am a freshman in college here xD
And i Have found some good things to eat that are very healthy

    Such as:
Soups all microwaveable :] and brand Nile Spice has 8-12 g of fiber per serving!
Almonds are a good snack around finals time
    Granola bars
    Cheese sticks
Anything high in protein to get through the studies

Campus here is pretty big so if yours is around the same I would say thats good enough exercise if you just dont have the time

I'm in University, too. When I was in dorms I discovered you can actually cook with a microwave, it's just a bit tricky. I eat a lot of fruit and raw vegetables, no bread or pasta, you can cook squash in the microwave and omelettes. A good grocery store might have cooked chicken breast you could pick up and use as the main component of lunch and dinner.

Salad with baby spinach and other greens is good, too (not just lettuce, it's nutritionally insignificant). Bean sprouts make good munchies. They make high protein, high fibre cereals that are a good head start to the day. And drinking whole milk is great, fills you up and has protein.
  • Coming from someone who has been there, done that.... I can honestly say that I feel your pain( I just recently graduated college. .) I ate lots of soup, canned veggies, and microwavable meals like lean cuisine, weight watchers, etc. Good luck to you!
