I've maintained the same weight for about two weeks (lowest being 218.8 and the most being 223.1 lbs) but it's almost like my body doesn't want to go below 215....I REALLY need help I've plateaued and it's starting to get REALLY bad out about this time (as in flash flood warnings/ice storm warnings) So my usual run is out...not to mention my knee would get sore when I did run (I think it was from the fact that I'm 218+ pounds and running 6 miles....and last time they had that kinda workout was in high school football at 195) So I really need some help on this one please!

try switching up your workout. usually when you continue doing the same workout for an extended period of time, your body gets used to it and doesn't burn as many calories. personally, i would suggest circuit training or doing p90x maybe? but keep plugging away!! it'll take a while, but you'll get down to that goal weight eventually0

Switching up your workout sounds like a good idea. What kind of foods are you eating? Are you varying things up or staying with basically the same thing daily? You might be able to tweak that some.0

Oh Plateaus! They are so frustrating and discouraging. It makes you want to give up and eat like crap because you might as well since dieting isn't working. Am I right? I've been there before and that's exactly how I felt. Definitely switch up your workout routine (like the previous poster recommended). For me and my sanity, I had to stop weighing myself temporarily. The scale stuck for me for 2 weeks and it was so frustrating. I stuck to my recommended caloric intake and followed it strictly for 2 more weeks and didn't step on the scale. When i stepped on the scale again I had lost 3.5 lbs and the plateau was over! Every body is differentand it may take you more or less time to get over your plateau, but trust me you will! Stick with it!0

I've noticed plateaus when I work out really hard. I believe that is from water retention. The body stores the water to help the healing. That is what I've been told. Hang in there.0

Thanks guys, just getting down in the dumps is all, seeing results and then going to staying the same weight is frustrating, but Idk what else to do? weights? or what? I mean I really don't want to start packing on muscle until I lose my goal weight first, so I can actually see the results...but being stuck at this weight is really frustrating.0

You should try P90X or some thing that involves weights and cardio..
Building muscle will be good for you and probably get you over your plataue; when you build muscle you increase your metabolism and you will burn more fat.0 -
If you don't want to start building too much muscle yet, go a TOTALLY different way and try something like yoga or pilates. I've only done yoga a few times, but I'm shocked at how challenging it can be when you really put the effort into it. Since there are so many different types of yoga, I'd suggest a vinyasa fundamentals class to start with. You'll learn some of the positions. Then, try a vinyasa flow class. You'll take the fundamental moves and they'll link them together so one move flows into the next... good cardio workout from what I hear. I'm still working on the fundamentals.0

Look at kettlebell workouts.... it is like cardio and weights at the same time... if you dont want to build musle then use smaller weight... I love my kettlebells.0

I appreciate it guys, I'll definitely have to look into the suggestions!0
