On having a "boyish" shape;
Some of us ladies just aren't lucky enough to have lovely curves! Myself included. I never developed hips and my body is quite boyish. My fat is distributed into my thighs and tummy rather than hips or chest.
Any other girls with small frames like this? How do you stay positive with all the images in our media currently of beautiful, curvy women? I have been finding it difficult to enjoy my body lately.

That's horrible, I'm really sorry to hear that. My shape is due to my genetics, simply. My mother and I look like twins nearly.0 -
i learned not to worry about it because there are plenty of admirers of our shape out there. they're just not in the majority so it's harder to pick up on. and there are plenty of admirers of any healthy shape, too. i like my shape. i have small boobs, no hips and no waist, but i have had plenty of admirers just the same. it's just not that big of deal, in my experience. what may become a big deal is all the groupthink surrounding body image and body shape, all the "real women have curves" bs. don't fall victim to groupthink. rock what you got. i do.0

I think I may save this to read later when I feel down. Thank you0 -
The best thing about your bodytype and don't you EVER let anyone tell you otherwise.. No matter WHAT you wear, you will look classy in it.
Gravity won't hit you as hard.
You'll get to enjoy your skin being tighter around problem areas longer.
Rejoice.
I tell my sister this all the time.
EDIT: And I'm sure there are some meany pants out here that will find pics to "prove me otherwise", just ignore all that jazz >.<0 -

This is the most sensical thing I've read on here in a long time. Well said.0 -

^ This. You also are guaranteed to find guys who will like your shape because we all certainly do not agree on "the best" woman's figure.0 -
Here's another thing, no one is 100% happy with their body shape, We all wish something was a little better, bigger hips, smaller hips, flatter stomach, longer legs, thinner thighs, etc.
Make the most of what you have, there's no good shape/bad shape.0 -
I think we just want what we can't have. I would love to get rid of my hips and thighs! lol. but I'm learning to embrace what God gave me. I know I'm never gonna have a "boyish" shape, so I'm just trying to work with what I have and become a better version of myself.0

luckily a fantastic butt can be built in the weight room and you dont have to "maybelline" it.
weighted post parallel squats, deadlifts, hip bridges, sinle leg squats, etc. just check out the book strong curves by brett contreras0 -
I think it comes down to changing your approach to how you view your body. Instead of focusing on what you don't have, find what you do! It wasn't til college that *poof* I got hips and started running into counter tops (take it from me, hips ain't all what they're cracked up to be), but in high school I chose to focus on what I DID like about my body. I liked having dark hair or being so fair skinned or having green eyes or blahblahblah eventually you realize there are a lot of bangin' things about your body. Cheer up buttercup, I know it's hard but you've got one life to live and one body to live it in. Enjoy it :flowerforyou:0

Sin... for the win!!!!
I have this body type too. Like others said, I just want to be a better version of me.
Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon and Gwen Stephani all rock our figure type. And look at the guys they've landed!0 -
Are you a woman?
Congratulations, you have a woman's body.0 -
I have wide hips, which is considered girly, but plenty of women like it.
Best version of yourself means best of what God gave you.0 -
I have a "boy" body. Meh, what are you gunna do about it? Might as well save myself the grief and accept myself for what I am (I realize this is easier said than done for some people but that's how I choose to look at things).0

I'm sure you are beautiful just the way you are...remember, focus on all the good aspects of your body (we all have to try to say this to ourselves daily no matter what shape).0
