I had the lap band for 4 yrs until December. It had to be removed due to slippage. I can extreme reflux at night and wasnt digesting food anymore. Can I have the sleeve done now? What are the requirements for weight? Is it safe after the band? Will the Dr do it? He didnt even mention it to me as an option depsite my fears of gaining weight, which I have. 20 lbs in 2 mo.

OP, you should be speaking to bariatric medical specialists and perhaps a therapist who works with WLS patients. You've already had one life altering surgery and you are considering one which is not reversible. Be good to yourself and get some professional insight from people who can really evaluate your medical history.0

Obviously you had all the symptoms of a band that was too tight. Maybe you should have considered unfilling you band before getting it removed?? And the band is probably the "safest" option. All other options are not reversible and involve cutting or rerouting of the digestive track. I do encourage you to see a bariatric doctor and discuss what would be most effective for you. But keep in mind that there is NO miracle solution. All of them require work and dedication. I would also suggest to change doctors. If he is not listening to you or if he is tightning bands too much he might not be competent...???0
